Ok so how do you prefer AC? I really prefer seeing it in japanese..I was so excited when I was about to watch it in English the first time..but after some minutes...I didn't like it too much..what about you guys?
My friend forced me to watch it in English (I have the Japanese version B) ) There was a part where Cloud sounded like a caveman, the voices were really annoying in English.
Original Voices ftw (though the Quebec vers. of the Simpsons can be an exception, lol off-topic)
I saw it in JP first then in English. Didn't care for either but there were some voices I preferred in either language. Kadaj=english only, the voice actor pulled off the crazed child much better then the JP voice over, same with Cait Sith and making me laugh. Aeris=japanese only, sadly they used the KHII girl and not the KHI girl (which was very good). Another JP only voice was Tifa I guess, her english voice sounded as if it was cracking. Loz, Yazoo, Vincent, and Sephiroth fall into the doesn't matter group, each had their faults (JP Sephiroth using the stereotype villian voice) and bonus' (JP Yazoo sounded like he was horny half the time). English Loz pulled off the crybaby better and Red XIII had that great deep voice that they described in the game.
-Cloud: I love his japanese voice, I think it suits him more than the english voice, but I can't deny that Steve Burton made a very good job being Cloud's voice it was also cool.
-Aeris: Japanese! I don't like her english voice at all, it shows no emotion! perhaps if the voice actress had been her KH1 voice then it would have been better but..
-Tifa: I really prefer her japanese voice, I just don't like how her English voice sounds..for me her english voice makes her sound older but her japanese voice sounds better and like her age
-Kadaj:....japanese, his english voice is a little childish XD I really prefer the japanese one
-Sephiroth: both, it doesn't matter if it's english or japanese he still sounds like the villian of the movie
-Reno: what can I say about him, his voice was cool in both japanese and english
-Rude: same
-Vincent: PERFECT! in both english and japanese
-Rufus/Loz/Yazoo:...japanese, but I like Rufus' voice in english too^^
-Marlene: japanese cos her english voice..it doesn't sound like if she was a little girl >.<
Kadaj is supposed to be childish they make clues throughout and even calls him that when referring to him. How can you not like the English voice more? I mean come on, his lines are even better. "Glad you could make it" "Once upon a time..."
Marlene is like 12-14 now, her english voice isn't so bad. It does sound somewhat older but her JP voice is even worst because it sounds 8. They both are so-so and I am more used to her JP voice but I can't choose neither.
edit: Oh and please stop making threads like this. State your opinions in your opening post. Don't wait for people to post before you say anything.
I generally prefer the English voices in Advent Children, but the Japanese version has the advantage of far better lip-synching due to the mouth animations being based on the Japanese dialogue.
It is the truth though and you know from looking at your post in the FFVIII thread. She made around 20 threads and never stated her opinion in the first post but instead waited for someone else.
1) I did say that I didn't like their english voices too much.
2) I just made 3 threads in the FF VIII section and I did post my opinion..and in the only thread I didn't post my opinion first was in the one I made yesterday
3) You said Marlene is 12-14 now..things that is not true because in the game she was like 4 years old and AC is two years after FF VII so that means she is 6 or 7 as a maximum.

Nah you made around 20 threads in four days, I didn't even say which sections. With little opinion in any still. "Lets talk about this game I brought", "Cards!", "Monkies are great ninjas. Are they?".
I was led to believe Marlene was at the very least 8 in VII. Never had reason to believe otherwise. I mean she could look out a window.
I don't blame you. Since the Japanese have a thing about talking while fighting. You miss out on some of the action because of that horrible narrative technique.
Well for me it's easy to watch it in Japanese, it's not that hard after you get used to it..and if you have some experience on watching things in Japanese it's a whole lot easier
