Future Final Fantasy XIII Developments To Be Announced on September 1

Square Enix will detail future developments for the Final Fantasy XIII project on September 1 during a stage show at the Final Fantasy 25th anniversary event in Shibuya. The publisher outlined its full plans for the event today.
The 25th Anniversary event will be held from August 31 through September 2. The first day will be an early demo event and opening ceremony exclusively for the press and some lucky members of the Square Enix Members fan club. The following days are open to the public.
The Final Fantasy XIII stage will be held on September 1 at 11:30. The stage is titled "Final Fantasy XIII Lightning Saga: New Developments Presentation." Square Enix is promising details on the future of the FFXIII project. The game's producer, director, art director and other members of the staff will be in attendance.
Other stage shows on September 1 include a Final Fantasy XI music presentation and a Final Fantasy XIV special stage which promises new information on the long awaited Version 2.0 revision.
The September 2 stage events kick off with the Final Fantasy VII 15th Anniversary Stage. This stage will feature appearances from voice actors. Later that day, Hajime Tabata, Yusuke Naora and other developers will appear for a live recording session of Square Enix's Squeni Chan! Presents radio broadcast. The topic for this is a discussion of the future of Final Fantasy.
Square Enix has not made any mention of live broadcasts for these stages, so we're going to have to wait for details to trickle out from attendees or press.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, there is a special kind of idiocy needed to call whatever they're doing XIII-3. It's probably the same one that had them make Serah a main character.
You're wrong, anyway. It's a Wii U worldbuilder set between XIII and XIII-2.

OMG, this game is still alive?! Then again, with us fans eating up anything they dish out, why wouldn't it be..? FF XIII is so over it hurts and Versus just kicked the bucket! Those guys at Square-Enix really need to get their heads together cause they've thrown this title so low, we can't even see it! Who cares what happened to Lightning? You couldn't deliver either Versus or Type-0 (how hard can a simple translation be, seriously?), so just give up on FNC and maybe look towards something new. And if XV still won't work (cause no one's gonna buy XIV), then remake VII so you can screw that up as well and close shop! Never thought I'd say this, but Square- Enix sucks!
I suppose the future discussion will include FFX HD and stuff about Luminous. I'm tired of XIII honestly (though it is necessary for a proper ending this time) and would love it if SE would move on to something new. Stop milking.
Well honestly I'm both excited and worried about this. Yes, XIII-2 was a good game of its own right but admittedly it was still lacking in some sense. With the standard of gaming today they would have to drastically improve or change things from the previous XIII titles on whatever kind of sequel game they're planning to make.
Can't they work on XIII-3 and move on? I'm sure that's what is actually going to happen. Again with no mention of Versus it's hard to not think of the current rumors swirling. However perhaps this is the venue in which they will showcase the latest that they said they were preparing? Or maybe that will be this years TGS since that is a week or so after this? We'll just have to wait and see.

Can't say I'm looking forward to this (cuz that would be a flat-out lie), but watching Toriyama possibly announcing 'the feared and oft unwanted' XIII-3 would be entertaining, if nothing else.
watch 13-3 come out in january with Lightning as the main character, lets hope the mog stays dead along with the shit monster crystalls, story, shit pointless DLCS that add fuck all to the game and could have been included for free, the obscure and random Mythology that has become confusing and random, oh and that purple haired cunt. did i miss anything?
but knowing square it is more likely another Lightning DLC, im prepared for the worst.
Well that's what is interesting since this event is so close to TGS I wonder what they are going to save for it. I mean, I imagine a lot but I wouldn't expect big reveals. But then again, it's happened in the past where right before a big event, something new is announced and they tell you to come to the event because that's where all the new info is gonna be. So this will probably be a tease if anything and then more to come come TGS time.
