What they would have to do to make me interested in XIII-3 if it does happen:
1. New battle system that doesn't involve having a monster as a third member. (Or at least revamped controls or new features. SOMETHING.)
2. It needs to be written by someone who isn't a complete doofus.
3. As much as I hate to go down the whole, "Let's go rescue them!" path, they need to bring back Fang and Vanille or something. Noel was a new party member fail in my opinion.
4. Lightning as a main character.
This is what would make me intrigued again. It's going to take a lot more to convince me to actually go out and buy it.

Been hoping for this since XIII-2 was announced. A look at the War of Transgression would have been so much more interesting than that time travel... filth. Just filth. Wanna see l'Cie duking it out in full scale war, Eidolons right and left and Cocoon getting cracked? No, of course you don't. What you clearly want is more Serah.
Serah is the definition of young women and fantasy characters. She will be remembered for years to come for her contribution to characterisation in video games.

If you look carefully, you can see the irony coalescing around the last sentence, and beginning to drip to the ground.
A small part of me is hopeful that they'll actually change things and make an effort if XIII-3 does happen, but yet the majority of my feelings want them to pull a George R. R. Martin and just kill off everyone so these atrocious XIII sequels and spin-offs can just end already.

We need to band together and start a petition begging George R.R. Martin to write the story for the next game! How could we have not seen this answer before?!
