Famitsu has recently revealed information regarding Lightning’s episode DLC, which has been confirmed not so long ago in a Square Enix conference. The episode will be about Lightning’s fight against Caius and more story details about the game’s ending will also be explained. It was also stated that it will feature a combat sytem different to the one used in the main game. The episode DLC is planned to be released on May, the exact date yet to be announced.

As I've said in the other thread, the thing I look forward to the most is this different battle system they speak of. Maybe it's more action orientated? Not to mention the fact that it will also reveal details about the game's ending.. yes, I am quite excited for this.
Yes! I wish they'd just use this episode to finish the story, but still I'm pumped for this. Yeah I'm curious how they're going to change the battle system, too. Should be interesting.
Just read it in a site and I´m so excited about it. I am looking forward to see more about this new battle system too and finally get some clues on that confusing ending. But do you think this is going to be the ending of the series or just a clarifying DLC? Anyways, as I said before in another thread, it´s good news. ;]
Yes, but... May?? Geez! Couldn't they take any longer? It just seems to me that they're trying to keep the game alive with all this dlc coliseum fights that have absolutely nothing to do with the story whatsoever (not to say I don't enjoy a good battle but does the world end or not???). I just maybe wrong and they have more story dlc planned, I mean there is supposed to be a Snow episode on the way or something.
I mentioned this in another thread, but the website I read the news about this upcoming Lightning episode said that it is the FIRST of the Lightning episodes to be released. So is it possible that there will be more Lightning episodes to follow? What do you guys think?
If Snow gets a novel, Lightning's enough imho. Sazh already has one (as stupid as it was), Fang and Vanille don't need one and Hope was basically a third main character.
... I think one episode is enough. There are more characters that deserve their own episodes besides Lightning.
Each main character from XIII (except Vanille and Fang for obvious reasons) should have their own episode. It's the only fair thing to do.
I think one episode will be enough, if its done right. I mean if this episode ends at the end of the game, and just shows why she turned to crystal, then I think we can expect another Lightning episode to give us the rest of the ending. That's just my opinion though.
It's so weird that Sazh gets his own dlc and all that Snow will get is a novella. Snow's story is more interesting and more relevant to the story! I don't believe that the Lightning dlc will be the last we get, because it clearly doesn't answer the "is Lightning happy" question that this game was supposed to answer in the first place. I think this game will have a true (better) ending, even if it takes a whole year to release. There's probably a lot we haven't seen or even know about yet. Almost every week they come up with something new! I really enjoy smacking the timebender himself (Caius) around, so this "new battle" thingy should be pretty fun!
We're going to need XIII-3, then. A story of Lightning VS Caius in the same time duration (or more of time-leaping duration) of the main game isn't going to conclude the story for sure, especially since we already know the ending of this DLC.

Unless they intend to end with Lightning saying "OH NOES WE CAN'T STOP CAIUS' PLANS. BETTER CRYSTALLIZE MYSELF ON ETRO'S THRONE TO PREVENT BHUNIVELZE FROM AWAKENING!" And then "THE END".
Card Battles? Meh. Lightning and Caius will compete in Chocobo Races in Valhalla, obviously.
