It's nothing personal, I just seriously hate when people say stuff like that. Like, being happy about someone's death, even if it's a fictional character. It kinda saddens me really.
You are talking about a fucking fictional character. It doesn't even fucking matter if someone lauds their death or not. Not everyone can connect to said character. I couldn't connect with Aeris and I was so happy she died.
There is a big difference between being happy a real person is dead versus a fictional character. There is no slippery slope. Anyone that says so needs to play around the train tracks.
And yes you are making it personal. Stop being butthurt that someone doesn't like your favorite character.
I never said anything about people not being allowed to dislike a certain character, but okay.
I'm just not even going to bother.
You do not have to spell it out as such. In fact there is such a thing as "insinuation." You insinuated to phoenixsun that it is a sin to praise a fictional character's death. In fact I believe you also said:

That is a possibility, of course. A few well-known video game website, like IGN, suggests that DLCs may not be appropriate to conclude the story.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 ends with a "To Be Continued" screen and offers almost no resolution to its plot. For a series deeply rooted in storytelling, this seems to indicate a much larger hole than simple DLC could fill.

Yeah definitely a good point. I only see resolution in a XIII-3.
EVERYTHING HAS TO BECOME BETTER FOR EVERYONE. IF SQUARE REFUSES TO DO IT I'LL WRITE ME OWN FIC DAMMIT. I HAVE TO SEE THESE CHARACTERS HAPPY ONCE AGAIN.

I've been having these weird thoughts lately… Like, is any of this for real… Or not?
i just finished the game.last night and i am sure that it's gonna be continued!!
and it has to be continued if you see the whole game
I WANT soo much to make it
to tell u the truth i m fan of the old FFs (5,6,7,8,9) when i played the 12 i said that square was finished and then i played the 13 and i said that something is better
and now i played 13-2 and i m tottaly excited it reminds me the old ones!!!
great job square :-)
After reading all the comments, I've come down to a simple theory.
The chances of XIII-3 being a movie is 7/10 to a another full game 3/10.
Why?
Let's look at the given facts right now.
XIII-2 was completed development last year, considering there is a visual 'to be continued' outcome, the writers knew what they were doing. So they probably had XIII-3 in mind since the start of the XIII-2 project.
XIII Versus went into 'Full' production schedule, meaning the Versus team took their hands off XIII. If XIII-3 was to be a game, I'm sure they would have stayed a little longer... unless Versus is to come out before XIII-3
But that might be a possible market loss for SE, since Versus will probably overshadow it...
There's a BIG lack of CGI cutscenes compared to the first XIII, even on one DVD disc for the 360.
MAYBE, it's because they sent the CGI team, which I think I heard somewhere was some CGI specialty company, to work on a movie?
I don't believe that movie will come as a conclusion to the story, game is to fresh, and the fan base is not that big as it is for FFVII.
Aurelia, while I do agree that comparing fictional character death to the real character death means that something is wrong with priorities for such person, but there is nothing wrong about being passionate about the game and it's characters, to the point where it saddens someone because some PC died.
as to continuing the storyline my bet is on DLC. Although I would prefer XIII-3
If anything, this year E3 will hopefully reveal any tidbits of official news about XIII-3 in the form of an interview or an actual trailer (too soon?). It will be held on June 5-7. Let us all look forward to that.
