What will the world be like in this game. Has any discussion been mentioned in an interview about loading, environment, etc...
I really don't want another Final Fantasy Game with STUPIDLY long waiting times when u switch to a different screen, full gameplay would be awesome (like GTA) and could provide a richer environment.
Yes information has already been released and discussed.
Monsters are on the visible on the map and have their own eco-system behavoir. The land is technology and nature. Maybe a few ruins or so in Pulse that mimic modern, victorian, medieval, or ancient age.
Nothing has been said about loading yet but I still expect it unless they smart up and use artifical ways to prevent loading. But given from the clip of them showing off Cocoon, the whole thing was one map so that could mean it has no loading but the inside of buildings weren't visible so take that as you wish. Pulse wasn't in the same video though.
The world should be nice considering the developers said the setting was futuristic like. A bit of fantasy hear and there would be nice but not a total overflow. *cough*FF12*cough*

Pretty strange to call XII a overflow of fantasy when IX and X had much more in my opinion (crystal chronicles has a lot as well). XII does come after those in the amount of fantasy though.
and you call IX plot good? the game is about some gender confused wanker who wants to destroy the planet but monkey boy, a black kid, a girl who wears nothing and some weird animal man stand in his way. Along with the fact that they didn't make the dungeons big enough so they jsut increased the random encounter rates to make the game seem longer.
Heavenly Sword streams the game off the Blu Ray Disc and hides the one load time at the beggining of each chapter with a cut scene, so I hope they do something like that. The load times for Motorstorm for example are pathetic. It takes forever to scroll through the cars or whatever to find one you like.
Didn't we go over X's crappy plot in another thread a couple days ago?
Thats an opinion mind you. But judging from your responses on these forums, you think its a fact. I'm not gonna bother arguing here since you alwasy counterattack everything somebody says.

All right then, you tell me what makes a good plot?
Well, i think the ambientation of FFXIII can be great with this mix between tech and fantasy. If the loads can't be taked out i would be happy with big envyroments to explore so that you don't need to change screens so often.

Why can't it be fact? I demand the revoke of opinions!
If the world isn't to scale for some reason they should get shot in the hands. Stops them from programing anymore. No reason not to have proper scales. PoPoLoCrois on the PSP (port) is to damn scale and I love it.

IX sucks compared to XII story, graphics and character wise. Balthier and Basch own the shit out of any IX character.

Mr T equipped with a grenade launcher which he fashioned from a toilet. Now thats a plot, not some gender confused wank riding a dragon who thinks he can own everything by talking stupidly and walking like a tree on steroids. The game is the worst out of every FF there is. The story had no continuous hardcore storyline, characters didn't really join because they wanted to save the world, they joined because they randomly met the main party. Amarant for instance joins for no fucking reason at all and wtf was with the Freya's dance scene? river dance? wtf square? At least XII was serious about whatever storyline it had.
To Desi:
So real-scale airships will be flyable? are we talking spastic world map viewing (birds eye) or actual behind the airship controlling?
Hey hey! IX was great, it was like the best of IV and V without the best of V (job system) but kept the humor of V. You weren't supposed to take it seriously and that return to the classic style is what made it so appealing. I know a lot of people that dislike it but that is mainly because they don't like a lot of the older games as much.
The airship is probably third person view. It has been said that is is controllable.

FFIX was quite good but it just didn't grab me as much as a lot of the other FF games did. It's a decent game, but not one of my favourites. I liked Zidane as a character, but most of the others were pretty forgettable. It would have been better if you could have had Beatrix as one of your regular party members as she was far more interesting and likeable than the useless waste of space that was Quina.
The overall storyline was okay but not exactly one of the best, Kuja was a pathetic villain (just a petulant child who got angry because he didn't get what he wanted) and I'm sure you're familiar with what I think about the final battle with the Necron
Back on topic:
For the FFXIII world I just want to see consistency in the design and I want the exploration and freedom from FFXII rather than the linear pathways of FFX.
