Its one of the better styles in a long time IMO. Only Auron can compete with her. The cape/scarf looks awesome. Its not like a silly superhero cape, but it fits her.

And it f***ing hurts
I'd say her outfit was pretty good. At least they aren't pulling a X-2 and putting her in almost nothing. I suppose Desi would prefer that
No, I wouldn't I just have better style.
Her armpad gives a unbalance design but I guess people likes Cloud's so it doesn't bother them as much. That Scarf feels like a cheap attempt to add to the lacking detail of the wardrobe, and scarfs are almost always a bad choice when wearing a lack of clothing. I only seem to find comfort in the design of the shorts. The gloves are fine but don't need that long piece of latex going up her arm. The boots aren't practical with a short sleeve/short shorts outfit. Some type of smaller shoes/tennis/sneakers would have been much better. Damn those are a lot of buckles, take to much time to tie up. A double zipper(like his Org. XIII raincoats) would have done the job. There are other things but I won't really get into those.

well nomura likes paying attention to detail on this one..so 1 point to buckles.her shoes are slightly impractical but if their a tight fit then it wouldn't be a bother...plus it'd prevent anything getting into her feet e.g water if she were to cross some river or something and the shoulder pad shows her military status or somethin so you gota have it

The buckles are impractical. The shoes aren't a tight fit, they have so much extra space that it doesn't stop her from getting water in them. Other then the front, the material for the rest of the boots look as if they wear down in water. I know about the "Single Shoulderpad" but it also gives a unbalance look like a bull with one horn. The ring on her right arm looks like a chinese finger trap and the turtleneck sweater under the jacket adds to the degree of confusion in the whole outfit. So you wear boots, gloves, shorts, but have a sweater with a jacket over it as well? That as a a set makes no sense what so ever. It would be like having a fleece, sandals, bike helmet, and swimming trunks.
I would have to agree the shoulder guard does offbalance her outfit since there isn't anything to contrast it on the other side...it seems as though Square's focused everything to her left (our right). The shoulder guard's on her left shoulder, the cape comes off of her left shoulder, the pink pouch is located on her left leg, etc...but other than that I think it's a very interesting outfit. And definately better than some of Sqare's past outfits.

Her hair goes to the left as well. I like the hair though, the curls give her a more posh look. Even if I can't say the same for the lot of her attire.
Exactly. I've noticed Square's also gravitated toward girls with straight hair. I had to go through all the Final Fantasies and check my theory...
Now that is not true at all. Amano's girls are not fans of straight hair with only two-three without curly hair(Garnet and Celes). Nomura on the other hand does prefer straight hair(Tifa and Aya). Yoshida likes curls in the front and the rest normally is a combination(Agrias and Callo). Naora I can't speak much on, though he seems to prefer more modern I believe.
Remember that the game is called 'Final Fantasy', not Final Reality - the clothing designs are mostly chosen because they look cool or unique, not because they are supposed to be practical.

Too bad that they also look like a hot mess then huh? I am sorry you can call sleeveless turtleneck sweaters and championship wreslting belts fantasy or "unique". I don't see it as being very stylized to be called neither. Just because some guy wants to wear a trashcan doesn't make it very fantasy or unique. It is a trashcan.
You can create a very fantasy based wardrobe and still be stylish. Her mismatched choices of equipment is a joke. Unless it gives awesome hidden stats we don't know about...
Fantasy is style to me not a time period or a name attached a title. Magic, dragons, and flying boats aren't fantasy to me; stylish magic, dragons, and flying boats are though. Her outfit isn't stylish or practical. Wearing a hoodie, dress shoes, basecap, and a shirt doesn't make it fantasy because i'm fighting off fire breathing daises with a 7 foot bow and spring water magic.
