FFXI Sequel

Japan's Nikkei Net news service reported today that Square Enix is currently working on a sequel to Final Fantasy XI. The next-generation massively multiplayer online RPG is being developed for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows Vista formats. Further details are not provided (including whether or not said sequel is a direct follow-up to the adventures of Vana'diel or if it isn't).

Well I never played the first one but after I get a PS3 who knows.

haha wrong board but here(highlight "here"). Was a big topic on the ffxionline.com forums for the past two days. Now it's a little disapointing it isn't.

It ended up being not true right? I did some searching and found out that SE is making a next gen MMORPG but it's not going to carry the FFXI name.

Ah yes, i heard about this

Got a lot of peoples hopes up but when the rumour was published in a magazine Sqaure-Enix stepped in :/

I think i would buy a next gen MMORPG. Could be part of the FFXIII compilation...

Um, you guys do know that's 11, not 9. It make sense that XI has a sequel since of the many expansion packs. But this is the IX section. An adminstrator or moderator, please move this thread over to not confuse anyone else?

You won't believe how much my eyes widened when I saw this thread title, only to be crushed when I found it was XI not IX.
