Are you ready for Final Fantasy 13? Well if you are and picking up the title on Xbox 360 with the option of installing to your hard drive you will need a good amount of space.
After installing all three discs the total amount of space used up was 18.3GB’s, so it’s bad news for the (Arcade) 20GB owners. Even though the 20GB seems like it would meet requirements, the Xbox 360’s memory system actually reserves approximately 6GB of space for caching, backwards-compatibility and other game elements leaving you with roughly 14GB to play with.
Disc 1: 5.9GB
Disc 2: 5.8GB
Disc 3: 6.6GB
The game is released in North America and Europe on 9th March, we will have our review up on the 5th of March when the online embargo lifts.

Less than Lost Odyssey unsurprisingly. Also quickly, what did people expect? It isn't an install in a conventional sense. More of a copy. And of course it's optional.
The xbox 360 has an option to install the FULL disc into the HDD to allow you to play the game directly off the HDD, so the disc wont spin at all, enhancing the loading and sometimes performance. It is completely optional. And in the case of multi disc games, you can install any particular disc you want. I for one like to install my games to keep the disc drive quiet. when playing multi disc games I simply install whatever disc im currently using. when I move on i delete the previous one, and install the next one.
Meh, this is why I plan on getting that shiney FFXIII hard drive off Ebay after it comes out.
But as stated, it quiets the disk drive by not spinning it, and cuts down loading times by something small like 5%. It's an optional thing. Poor Arcade owners, shoulda gone Pro.
At least it's not mandatory install, that would truly blow and be lul worthy. Although if it does make the system quieter all the better. That's one downside to the 360, it's noisy as all fuck. One thing I didn't like about Star Ocean The Last Hope -International- was that it made the normally quiet PS3 sound like a 360 :/
