God knows why folks are even beggin for one in the first place.
I'm still pretty sound with the original in every way. And people also should consider the fact that a lot of those quirky funny moments they love would be lost in the remake.
Exactly how is XIII's story more complex than VII?
,,
how is VII's story more complex? but some things in XIII I didn't even catch my first two times through the game. Such as the Cavalry's true purpose and not really plot related, but why Vanille had 3 ATB bars to start while everyone else had 2.

and the DS Cloud looks like any other FF DS character. So that stops the "The Cloud looks fake/The interview looks fake" and the screenshots are from the PS1 version so none of this "The screenshots look fake" please.
Looked fake. No magazine scan is ever that clear. Hence why it's a scan and not a screenshot an shit. lol
Also, I agree in wanting to know why XIII's story was more 'complex' than VII's. VII's was pretty damn complex the first time around if you ask me. But how complex a story is shouldn't determine why it would be hard to remake it.
The part that I would say was complex about the game was who was really in charge: Sephiroth, or Jenova? It's never explicitly stated throughout the game.. but that is the only major complex thing I can think of (at the moment) for VII.
That being said, I loved VII, would love a remake of it 'someday', but for now.. I would much rather learn more about future titles- especially Versus XIII.
May have just been the fact that I was 12 when I first played :monster: But VII had it's complex moments. Especially with the whole Jenova/Sephiroth shit.
Versus XIII could be interesting if Nomura truly explores the human psyche and emotions thoroughly. The only deep part had to be the motives for Cloud fighting and his amnesiac background. In my mind, I kept trying to piece together his mysterious background, but I couldn't which only proved to be more enticing as the game's plot progressed.
Sephiroth was just as interesting and manifested his will through Cloud.
I'm thinking they should just cap off the series with a finale FFVII game that's epic and satisfying to everyone. That way they can move forward in their creativity and game design without rehashing outdated stuff that would be required to remake VII.
Remaking VII would just tie them down. Instead let them progress and move forward. They can still make a great Final Fantasy VII game. That way they could try to make it a better game then VII was.
Nomura's compilation games(particularly Dirge of Cerberus and Crisis Core) have been teasing a grand finale game anyway. I think that's what they intend to do.
I would like to see a FFVII remake bc i never played the original, i think i would have a trouble playing the original now with its shitty graphics, no voice acting ect.. I've seen the Advent Children movie, FFVII has some good characters.
Also FFVII is extremely popular, they could make LOADS of money if they remade it imo, and i seriously doubt it would take 13 years to remake....

Going by that comment, I'm guessing your first FF game was either X,XII, or XIII?
The majority of the series thus far is like that. It's a shame that you would miss out on some great games cause of dated graphics and lack of voice acting.
k can someone explain the complexity in VII's story or am I just not seeing it?
You really shouldnt worry about...Some people think VII is more complicated some may think XIII is more complicated. I think I understood XIII the first time through, you may have needed to play it again... Either way lets not start another stupid argument about these games...

I wasn't arguing I was honestly curious, the most complex thing about XIII I think is all the unsaid stuff of where you have to read between the lines, and the deep backstory(the analects) that is shrouded in mystery.
"We've gotten this question a lot from many countries (laughs). To make FFXIII at this level of quality, it took us 3 to 4 years. If we were to make FFVII in the same style of FFXIII, it would take 10 times as long, so it would be difficult to take it up immediately. However, we always keep in mind how often this is requested."
unbelievable.

Seriously now..."10 times as long"? If that isn't bullshit, I don't know what is.
How can remaking a game with an already established plot, characters, and setting take over 30 years? No remake takes over 30 years to do. Hell, no game takes over 30 years to do.
Why in the world would kitase say something so outlandish?

If VII will take 30 years I hope that doesnt mean all the games will have to be like XIII. Im not saying I didnt like it but Id like to see another FF in the future that is REALLY long, has side quests, minigames, and lots of exploration. Yet again I love XIII I just hope EVERY FF from now on isnt going to be linear with the same "hunts" or "marks".
if they wanted to do a remake then they can. i think they dont want to tarnish the image of vii. yes the game will sell but it would be a big hit to SE if the game flopped. the expectation of the remake would be so high i dont think SE could surpass it. in the end and a weird way i think it is vii's success that has stoped any remake.
