Would something like this ever happen? . The project is the remakes of VII VIII and IX for the PS3 and Xbox 360. The aim of the project is to get back interests from old fans as well as getting attentions from the new generation of gamers.
I think we can only dream, Square Enix is a mess when Wada is in charge. Although he did said that the game he would like to make most is the remake of FFIX. So maybe sometimes in the future the remakes of VII VIII and IX will see the light of the day.
I just don't get what's with this obsession to remake something that's already amazing to begin with.
Sure it could be cool, But c'mon, it's ultimately just a graphics thing.
Like what's already been said, why fix something that isnt broken?
Id like a ff6 remake for ds in the same vain as the ff4 remake 3d and full voice i think that would be cool and interesting.Plus i just want a reason to play a game ive beaten many many time s in the past.
I wouldnt mind seeing them remade but I gotta agree with the first couple posts... theyre all ready great games, besides graphics theyre fine (and personally theres something about those old graphics I like...theyre classic).
Oh my... are we at the point to give fictional names to projects that don't even exist?
And if there was to be a remake, FFVI should take the cake. VII has been milked dry and VIII doesn't deserve it's stupid characters and corny love story to be in HD.
No more remakes, sequals, prequals or treeeeequallss ;P There's one thing I love Final Fantasy for and that's its ability to amaze through one story, and when you've completed it, it feels like you've left that world behind and you have a memory of it. A remake then ruins that memory as it changes and warps what was in the original.
Yes the remakes would look awesome, but there are many elements that wouldn't be awesome. As for extensions to the main titles, just leave them be, 7 has gone too far, even though it's my favourite. Continue with the main titles and make 'em good.

I tend to agree with you .... But i thought for the purpose of this thread you had to pick something youd like to see remade . But i guess i could be wrong.

Well, then if something definitly HAD to be remade, I'd probably like to see something made into a movie, perhaps FF8, or perhaps a spin-off to FF8 letting you pick a custom character and you're a part of SeeD doing missions etc.

But generally I don't want anything remade.
FF8 deserves no sequel. In fact all FF games don't, but the ones that did get them should not have ever happened.
