I thought IV was really good. Ive played FFI and FFII as well, but nothing else before VII. They both sucked. They didnt even have names. Just "Black Mage" etc...
Having played all the final fantasy games (including unreleased FFIII with a decent translation) FFV is definitely among the top four Final Fantasy games after VII,VI and IV.
I don't know how you guys can say that everything before FFVII is bad o.O
In most of them theres a much better more complex story than most of the recent Final fantasy's (VII, IX, X-2) and the gameplay is just as good as the more recent games aswell, The only downside I can see to them is the graphics, but for their time the graphics were top notch.
o.O
Final Fantasy V is still my favorite FF of them all, to date. The only reason I could find for its under-appreciation is its somewhat lacking of in-depth character design, but hey, I found that the great Job Class system more than made up for it, myself.I found nothing wrong with the game, and actually found it to be bigger than IV.
Anyone who says anything before FFVII sucks, sounds like a really young gamer, who never got to know the old school classic games in general. FFVII is way overrated anyways.
I actually ended up loving FFV, same with FFIV...But FFVI most of all. Truly a legend among the FF's.
