Default Virginia Shooting

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/6560685.stm

This type of shit is actually scary. The fact that someone can walk into a building of education (thats about 1,000 people+) carrying a gun is just retarded. Its happened before so i don't know why Bush hasn't done stuff to stop it.

Any of you live in Virginia?

I don't live there, I'm way north of virginia.

That's awful though. 32 people have been confirmed dead. At least one of those is the shooter. I'm guessing the school's going to get some type of security put in place from now on.

Near my school, their was a prison escapee that killed two cops. And I guess kids were leaving the school early, people were going in and out....a bunch of bull crap. So now we have a closed campus, cameras, security officers....the works

If my school didn't even have a shooting and the security went up that much, I'm guessing Virginia Tech will also follow suit.

On a last note, I hope that the death toll doesn't rise up any further...

I would have thought that the 1999 shooting by two boys would have been enough to raise security around the country for students.

Here in england, we don't get shootings much. Their very rare, which is weird as seeing as our cops don't carry guns. But if a person did walk into our college with a gun, he would meet no resistance at all. Plus the fact that in my college everyone groups at lunch would be devastating.

31 People died (excluding the wank shooter) and thats at Uni, it fucking sucks.

True. Yet the police would rather prance about randomly driving up to anyone who looks suspicious. I walked into a shop with my hat on, and the police officer asked me if i was up to anything "illegal". Police profiling has got out of hand.
Americas new idea likes to blame blacks, muslims and rap music for all their problems. Just proves that propaganda is still in use.

I don't see why you're including ALL of america...What you're talking about deals with Imus(blacks), Rosie(muslims), and Opera(rap music). XD They hardly represent 3 million people

And how can you say, "Americas new idea likes to blame blacks, muslims and rap music for all their problems."

?

This tragedy hasn't even once brought up any of those.

And here's an update again:

BLACKSBURG, Va. (April 16) - A gunman opened fire in a Virginia Tech dorm and then, two hours later, in a classroom across campus Monday, killing at least 30 people in the deadliest shooting rampage in U.S. history, government officials told The Associated Press. The gunman was killed, bringing the death toll to 31.

So yes, The shooter IS one of the 31 people dead.

Whoa...that's horrible.

Stuff like this rarely happens in Canada, but last year there was a shooting at a college in Montreal. It was scary D:

Its risen to 33 people now.

The only incident i know of in england is in london when an insane bloke got a shotgun and a rifle. Went around his neighbourhood shotting peop,e breaking into their houses, shooting them. He was just walking around the area for about 4 hours shooting people. The police couldn't keep up. He even shot his own mum i believe when she tried to stop him. He killed himself when he got trapped in a building by police.

Because school/college/uni shootings in america is high. Bush does nothing about the shootings at all. He doesn't upgrade security.

The proof is with this incident. The fucking guy, shot 2 people (his ex-gf and her new bf) WALKED from 1 - 2:

with 2 guns. He wasn't stopped and police were nowhere to be seen at this time. Thats pretty far to walk after shooting 2 people and carrying 2 guns. The security was pure shit and pathetic. ALSO when the shootings were postponed. The police allowed the Uni to continue its lessons JUST because they believed that the gunman has left. If the Uni had been shut down alot more lives could have been saved.

In all honesty, Bush needs to stop attacking other countries and sort his own out.

^^ How should he do that? He can't force people to change the way that a school is run. Shooting have been going on for ages...In this country at least. It's up to the schools to take care of it. It isn't bush's fault, like Ragnarok said.

Yes he can. Education isn't seperate to the government. The government controls the education so...yes he can. Anyway, i wasn't talking about the way the school was run. In the predicament, the police did pure shite. Which is part of the main story atm.

Alright..then do you suppose he should make eeeevery school a closed campus and not let people in or out between cerrtain times? It's college...These people are adults, they can't be treated like high schoolers.

And state and federal government is seperate. Certain states control their school systems, while others the government can get their hands on.

And on another note: The only thing he might be able to enforce, is that there be a campus officer always on duty...if there isn't one already.
