In an interview with Japanese gaming magazine Gomega, Tetsuya Nomura, father of Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy stylist, and co-conspirator on lots of other Square-Enix titles, promised a game that is highly requested by fans - some personally requested it from him, and the reaction he expects from the announcement is downright huge.
Yeah, yeah... FF VII remake or I'm "fucking dead"... you are the fourth just today... this is getting tiresome.
So, which is it? Kingdom Hearts III? A remake of the biggest Final Fantasy ever, VII? Well, either way, the huge array of fans will be rejoicing!
I put my bets on the Final Fantasy VII remake.
YOU KNOW WHAT WOULD BE REALLY GREAT, YOU RETARDED FAGGOT? GETTING YOU AND YOUR FUCKING COLLEAGUES TOGETHER AND FINISHING THIS SHIT.
Jesus fucking Christ.
He said in that interview where he said he was working on 2 new games that they were working on The 3rd Birthday more than Agito right now and are planning on releasing it before Agito.
2010 seems to be a big RPG year! Versus info, Agito info and probably a FFVII remake! If it has been asked for a long time it couldn't be anything else than a FFVII remake. I'm not hyping yet because Nomura has a habbit of exaggerating things. The announcement will probably be at E3, I can imagine it already: FFvXIII trailer - FFaXIII trailer - FFXIV trailer + release date "and if you thought that's all: - FFVII remake announcement!
Nomura really needs to finish the rest of the games that have ALREADY been announced. Hey, it's great if he wants to make these games, but if he's going to spread himself so thin that it takes twenty years for any of them to come out, no thanks.
Just because Nomura said that a highly requested game is going to be announced, doesn't necessarily mean that he's the one who's mainly working on it. It could be the guy who directed Crisis Core, or maybe it'll be whoever worked on XIII now that that's done. Even if it is a FFVII remake, and even if Nomura does direct it, it's a remake, so they already have the scenario and character designs and everything all worked out, and all that would really need to be done is to direct and animate new cutscenes and recreate everything in current graphics and then record voices.
To be honest, if they use the same engine that runs FFXIII and they start working on a remake next month, it could be out sometime in 2011, because they barely have any pre-production work to do or any new engines to create. It's like with new IP's, they take years to come out because the developers build a new engine and have to come up with a brand new world and everything, but the sequel only takes a couple years to come out because they only have to come up with a new story and model some new environments and characters, and a remake of VII even has an advantage there because the story is already written, so it could even take less than two years to be made.
As Rade pointed i hope that SE begins to make games for ps3 quickly now that they have the crystal engine built. I dont want them to make a new engine to each new game.
I would choose FFVII remake with FFXIII combat system mixed with materias, or with FFX-2 combat systems (Ability to Combo & "Semi Real Time" battle, i'm not talking about jobs) ... would be fun & fast & graphic !
But, is a FFVII's remake risky ? Fans would be hoping a lot about the game, and maybe FFVII doesn't fit well with high end graphics etc ? (Just a supposition though... )
