I really dont get the change in hair colour. I think the game actually looked better when it was just FFIII. At least then it had an excuse to be bad graphics. Adding CG and nothing else does seem kinda lazy
I enjoyed it. The sense of humor and awkward things later make up for the slow begining. I mean running around in a mech made of people is cool and all but the fights seemed to be filler(well just like the begining of all Rpg's really). The hair thing though, that's on like all the remakes FMV's, play V and IV you see the same thing.
I havent tried ffv but i am trying to beat ff6. The opera scene is still one of the best ff movies ive seen. Trying to track down that version of that song is a pain though >.>.
Either its my controller or Im a noob at doing the monks blitz move (forgot name but i know its simple). Because of that i cant beat Vargus. Anyone got any tips?

well i haven't played it yet but i have played FF5 and it cant be worser, can it?
You badmouth FFV? I can't believe you guys, you must not be real. You want to torture yourself go play FFII, VIII, or X.
And the hair color change was because everyone was blonde(except Cyan and Gau). Look at the official Yoshitaka Amano art and you see that they whole cast including the moogle(his pon pon) and guest characters were blonde. So in game they changed the hair colors to not have a party full of blonde people.
game just froze at the opera scene, and I hadn't saved for ages. and it's not th big thing to play on emulator either, and the chocobo running is just confusing. and at least until the opera, it's not very exciting. espesially when you have infinite HP cheat on...or cheats for all abiities...ultima-ultima-ultima-ultima-ultima like all the time...

i didnt mean to bad mouth FFV. it is one of the best FF titles ever. I meant that it couldnt be worser than FFV which is a great game.
I love love love FF6, but the first part is really boring and hard to get past, but once you do, it is definitely worth it! Try again and just be strong, trust me!

I could never get into FFVI on PS1 because of all the annoying loading breaks and the delay when going into or out of the menu screen, it just made the game a chore to play.
Recently I finished the GBA version and it was so much better to play the game with no loading times, and you get the added bonus of a couple of extra dungeons that become available after you've completed the game. I definitely enjoyed it much, much more than the PS1 version.
I think it probably is the best of the old-style 2D FF games, although FFV seems to be a little underrated by most people (and that's another one where the GBA version is better than the PS1).
