Snow vs. Balthier

Snow wants to be the hero guy right? But appearantly he's childish and cliched.

FF12 however had Balthier practically stating he's "The Leading Man."

Now is Balthier's intelligence the ONLY difference between the two?

Because I don't understand it....

Any difference?

Snow is always talking about protecting everyone and saving Serah. Always.

Unless they're doing some really nice work on the English script, I have a feeling he's just going to be a big cheeseball in the dub.

Yeah, they strike me as very different. It's hard to explain why, I guess it's more that Balthier is in everything for himself, older, wiser, ladies man. Whereas Snow is the big I AM A HERO cheeseball. I do appreciate his character though.

Snow's the blockheaded hero. The type that a lot of writers love for some unknown reason. He shouts a bunch of stuff in a preachy, asinine manner. Then he charges into a situation and because of his severely retarded good fortune he comes out on top.

Balthier's actually got swagger. He's cool cause he's sophisticated without being a prude. He walks into a situation, does the right thing with no more fanfare than was needed.

Balthier was a better candidate for the lead cause you felt like it wasn't his ass that was making the decisions. It was his head, calm and collected all the way. You can tell I'm a bit biased no?

Snow is very hard-headed and quick to run into action whereas Balthier was all about strategy and using his suave attitude to control the situation. It's sort of like comparing James Bond(Balthier) to Vin Diesel(Snow). Yeah, I went there...
