Thoughts on the Sound Track?

For the people who've imported or watched live streams, what do you think of the game's music?

The ambient tracks set the right mood and the orchestrated ones are great from a classical stand point, but I feel like most of the music just isn't very memorable or catchy. The production values are really high(no more midi-sounding songs!) which is great and I'm a big fan of Hamauzu, but overall it's just not as impressive as I'd hoped. :/

From what I've heard so far, I think it sounds awesome all the way, and also refreshing for Hamauzu. Finally he can write music for a great and inspirational game!

iv'e saw the entire game on streams and iv'e gotta say I have loved the whole soundtrack, for me some of the tracks sound like their from FFX (not that this is a bad thing) but alot of them are new and fresh ideas, the soundtrack for XIII is by far my favorite

I love the soundtrack too, I can't wait for rips of it. I especially liked Like Bilge theme (probably because Lake Bilge is the best area I've ever seen in a FF game.) and I like the theme that plays when you're walking with Hope at Hanged Edge (after the demo version).

I am in love with the soundtrack. For once, I may actually buy the case instead of downloading it off the internet. The mix of vocal music, to pop music, gorgeous violin + piano arrangements make, what I have heard, better than any FF yet.

I TOTALLY ORDERED THE LIMITED EDITION FROM CDJAPAN, BUT I SPENT MONEY AND MY CARD AUTHORISATION WAS DECLINED FOR INSUFFICIENT FUNDS SO I WAS ALL "CANCEL IT" AND THEY WERE ALL "SURE" AND THEN I FOUND OUT YESASIA HAS FREE INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING ON IT, SO I MIGHT GO WITH THEM INSTEAD.

I love it. I love the chocobo theme! Still follows the same basic music foundations of nobuo's, but he hasn't just used Nobuo's work. He's made it his own, yet still true for the chocobo theme!

I really like what I've heard so far. It's not quite as memorable as Uematsu's work, but that's not to say it's necessarily worse. It's just... more subtle and ambient.

I particularly like the music that plays on Pulse. It’s so unlike anything we’ve heard before.

I am in love with the boss theme that plays when you fight the Pope guy, I heard it playing during the TGS trailer and I was waiting to hear it in full.

It's deadly.

Apart from that all the battle themes seem really good.

the music is very nice. i still dont like the face that theres no victory fanfare. but other than that, i like the music.

Yeah, I downloaded that yesterday. It's not a clean rip, as you can hear the player running around and scrolling through menus and stuff.

A few songs I fell in love with. But yeah I don't think this is the best Hamauzu has compossed. But theirs a few that make the list of Hamauzu's greatest.

I really prefer just instrumental tracks in the games or with the odd japanese vocals. Ye I don't understand a word, but it always sounds right you know.

I guess this Leona Lewis track makes sense though, it's pretty much a auricular(sound) representation of how commercially bastardised the series has become
