Just curious about how everyone feels about what they've seen so far.
I really don't want to spoil things for myself, but its just too easy to look. At the end of the day, if it doesn't reveal too much I find some satisfaction in that. However, I really don't want to get hyped up about this game. Why?
I love FF games, however, its been a long time since I played them (FFX/XI being the last ones I enjoyed). In this time I've played games with more 'hands-on' fighting, environments that are more character-interactive.
Whilst I'm not saying this is better, I'm saying I don't want to be so excited that when I finally play I get letdown with the lack of 'hands-on'/feel like something is missing.
Additionally XII didn't really take to me, and there's been a lot of... 'interesting' spin-offs under the Final Fantasy brand since the Enix merge.
Three months is a long time to wait too. I'm just hoping I won't spoil things for myself :/.
From the hour or two of live stream I watched, I think my only real complaint is the extreme linearity of the maps (some people really liked it in FFX, though).
I'm hoping that the world opens up more after a bit.
If its anything like Most Final Fantasy's it will be rather linear till mid to late game when you gain some form of transport because no matter how beautiful the environments are after a while you do get bored of running from A to Z and back again.
But the game looks seriously solid, the combat system I can't wait to try it looks really interesting and a new thing to master along with the Optima/Paradigms change possibilities and Chain Bonus's. Oh yea and how some of the questing works gaining ranks looks fun!
Some of the things ive picked up on are maybe the combat will be too fast paced to do accurate decisions for long fights (Penance anyone? ) but it seems they have added a slow feature into game options for this, will just take a slight adjusting to get used to it.
It also seems they have re-used a mechanic from FF8 (Zells Limit Break) for the Aions Gestalt Mode which considering how much effort they say they put into everything about this game seems a bit weak but then again it will work well for the pace and how they want to use it so meh.
But these are just seriously seriously minor issues OH WAIT I FORGOT
I HATE who they got in to sing the Main theme!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also I dont like they brought back the Sphere Grid(Crystarium System) because im going to have to do it all DDDDDDDD
Going to be a seriously amazing game and well worth the 3 year wait and all the hype it has gotten IMO.
only seen the first hour of it and im very happy. im in mostly for the story and i couldnt be more excited. it seems ffx-esque to me but i have no complaints because i loved that game. no real concerns for me!
but how do i pass the time its going to take for it to get here? the live streaming is so tempting..

Don't do a Cartman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
I wouldn't watch anything much will ruin it for you!! Just play other final fantasies u ain't completed like 1-6 normally for most people Or try some classics like Chrono Trigger.
Other than that try find a MMO to play for the time or something its only like 80 days away or something
I'm happy with what I've seen so far. I didn't watch the stream from beginning to end, but I watched some parts of it. I can't connect the things I've seen to each other so I will be still surprised when I play the game myself. I like linear gameplay and the Crystalium system, but the Crystalium System looks a bit clutterd to me, I don't really understand how it works yet.
After 3 years SE can does still amaze me about this game. The footage from the trailers was carefully cut and the final game looks very polished. I will have a great experience with this game and PS3 now has an RPG that easily blows all the Xbox360 RPG's away.
I gotta say that I was very hyped for this game since ive been a big sony/ps fan since the day one but then it was announced for the xbox and i lost my interest, not completely, but yeah. Like a month ago I regained it again^ it looks great i cant wait and yeah, i'm pretty happy with what i've seen so far
I didn't watch the live stream of the game, but from what I've seen and heard so far about the game officially or unofficially...this is simply is going to be epic in terms of the story and game play. Probably the best story I've seen and heard so far...really amazing and it has the best crew of characters. I really hope Versus can have such a huge storyline and has the same epicness of FFXIII. Don't worry about the linearity, I've heard there will be a combination of both linear maps and open field maps in FFXIII
From what I've seen, Hope is absolutely useless. I told you all. I told you he wouldn't be worth anything. I've seen people reversing their decisions to have him in their party when given the choice. I told you so.

I'm jibbering with excitement from what I've seen so far.
I'm loving the battle system, it looks challenging but its just something to be tackled and I'm guessing the sense of achievement once mastered will be quite something. Also I think it's the natural progression of the ATB system. XII was a decent game but playing in realtime in FF didnt sit well with me.
The presentation(as with all FF's) is immense, I have to rip my eyes away from the livestream so that I dont spoil it. I think they've built a believable cast of characters, I'm itching to play with Lightning... I'm a big fan of Joss Whedons work as such I think strong female leads are compelling and interesting and I'm dying to find out her back story.
I cant say I'm thrilled about transforming summons, I liked the natural beasts from past games better, but we'll see how they play once the full game arrives.
FFXIII game of 2010?

Reason: meh
I've watched about an hour of the livestream at the very beginning of the game until around Lake Bilge. So far, I'm impressed. Character interactive seem believable, story-line progression is different from what I hypothesized (which I'm thankful for), and gameplay seems solid. The only pet peeve I have is not being able to move around during battle. Not too sure if it's true, but it would seem that during the time it takes to fill your ATB bar, you aren't able to move out the way of enemy fire. Like I said, I don't know if that's the case, but if it is, it'll make gameplay a bit annoying.
Other than that, everything I've come to expect from XIII, & more, so far has displayed itself beautifully.
Besides the obvious pretty the most feed I've gotten so far are comparisons to FFX, which is seriously starting to make me apprehensive more than anything else.
I really hated X. Its linearity was just awful and the cinematic eventually bored me batshit, but I do suppose part of the reason why the linearity felt worse than what it was actually worth was because I couldn't give a rotting cock for the plot or the characters.
Either way, I do for the love of god hope it isn't as bad as it was in FFX, or that there's at least something other than graphics to save grace. I'm hoping my impressions of some the characters will stay true and grow onto me a lot more.
From what I've seen, FF13 looks pretty action packed, which I like. I was only streaming for a like half an hour last night. The guy playing was in this place that reminded me of Macalania form FF10 and Paranima Rift from FF12 combined into one. Pretty cool I must say.
