Still have mixed feelings towards this game but the combat system seems to be a lot more sophisticated than I was expecting.

I think that they're trying too hard to make the combat unique, though. If they're going after a combat style like Arkham City's, then simple is best. Pausing during battles is going to be tremendously annoying.

Pausing during combat to unleash special powers doesn't bother me in the least. As for the combos, it seems like they'll be set up ahead of time. The only reason the guy did it in active combat during the demo was to display the Pressen system. You'll probably have four favorite combos already constructed by the time you actually get into battle.

It doesn't pause, you're supposed to look down while the game's still going.
