Square Enix has joined other developers in suggesting that hardware manufacturers provide decent amounts of RAM in their next round of consoles.
Takeshi Nozue, who you might know as "that dude with the shitty-ass hair who plays second fiddle to Nomura whenever Advent Children is acknowledged" (he was the co-director, more specifically), bemoaned to Edge about how troubling it was to get
that one tech demo that surprised everyone running and stated that for consoles to come close to replicating it, they would need a hefty amount of memory.

Considering that RAM is the cheapest of all components to splurge on, it's not that unfair. Anything less than 4GB is just being retarded.
Alternate solutions include:
-Forgetting about consoles and joining the PC gaming master race
-Square Enix learning to maybe be less brazenly wasteful with system resources when creating assets
