We've been moaning for over 6 years now and we're the biggest FNC fansite. They take no notice.
When were fansites good enough to reach Square enix? if you were trying to reach Square through this fansite then sorry to say but its worthless. A group already made a thread in Square's official forums asking for Final Fantasy type-0, and still didn't even receive a response, that's cause forums isn't the right way to ask.
Operation Rainfall and Tales of fans got most of the games they asked, while Operation Rainfall asked for games that were already released in Europe, Tales of fans asked for localization of these games, and they were successful by getting Tales of Graces f, and Tales of Xillia which will be released next year. They approached the game creators through social websites like Twitter and Facebook, not by complaining at forums. In the end it seems that sometimes game companies do listen to fans demand.
The movement needs to make some changes, asking for news for Versus wouldn't work and they need to focus only on type-0 for now.
Its so pointless just to sit and say they wouldn't listen, without even trying the previous fansites approaches. Maybe Square does indeed looks at these things in a different way, but still we did get a subtitled version of Final Fantasy XIII (even though it was the chinese copy, its still what we kinda asked for) and it was through interviews who asked questions that fans posted through IGN and Gametrailers.
I really do hope the best for the Project to acheive something at least getting a reply from Square.
You know, I applaud you for standing up for a cause, but again, Square has never listened to the demands of fans. If they did, we'd have KH3 already.
KH3 is a different case altogether.
First, by asking for KH3, we're asking for Square Enix to start production on a game, on the other hand, type-0 is already released in Japan for about 10 months. Square do not usually take all this time to localize a game.
And secondly, they already said that they have to finish Versus first. Most of the main KH team are developing Versus. Nomura already has alot of games, KH3 would only increase pressure on him. working on one might hinder the other triple A title.
Finally, fans of the Chrono series where asking for Chrono Break for a long while, even though they sent letters and were more civil and formal in their way of asking for it, they did not get what they wanted in the end
So I guess we have no right to complain about KH3, in the end we said we wanted something that wasn't green lighted.
Localizing is different from asking them to start development on a new game; we need to try, not complain. If it fails then I'll agree with you, but without doing it the way Operation rainfall and tales of fans did and complaining than they're not listening isn't going to help.
I'm against asking for more Versus news in that way, we need to stop thinking of Versus for a while and focus on type-0. I'm not counting on Square to release it, but I always thought that Final Fantasy fans were going to ask for it. The way they talk about Final Fantasy and asking for a remake of Final Fantasy VII made me think that they can get what they want(although I don't want a FFVII remake) but I'm really disappointed at them now for not asking for type-0.
Its understandable of them making sequels that most final fantasy fans do not want(maybe the casual people have a different story) but it shows interest to other people and the game wouldn't cost much to make, in addition to gaining money out of some used material. I'm not asking for the fans to get their hopes so up. All I'm saying that we need to stick together and do it the right way, like the other fan bases did. Always believed that we can do better than other RPG fans since we're a majority compared to the tales of series for example or other RPG series.

Sorry for my poor English.
I never said this site was designed to reach Square or have I ever used it in any way to try and sway their opinion. The reason I used us as an example is because we represent the entirety of online opinion, simply centralised. We have press relations with Square Enix. I'm sure you know that they arranged to fly one of our staff members out to LA to play XIII-2 and then put them up in a hotel.
Despite whatever relationship anyone has with them, they will only work according to their master plan. They have PR staff that come across the moaning and pleading to release Versus or Type-0 every day but even their own PR department won't have any sway on what the executives want to do. A perfect example (out of the many blunders in recent years), is the re-release of FFVII for PC. A PS1 port of a 15 year old game which was already released on PC in much higher quality. This obviously drew criticism from fans, but they continued anyway.
This plan of yours isn't a movement. It's free PR. Exactly what this site provides them already. We don't expect anything on this forum to be "heard" by them and we do not aim to try to do so here. Spamming their Facebook and Twitter is an even more ridiculous idea, especially if a thread on their own official forum, their main point of feedback, was ignored. These services are ran by people who know as much about the status of these games as we do.
Copying Operation Rainfall is a pointless approach. These games had already been released in Europe and required near to no localisation. All of these were simply an effort aimed at Nintendo of America, nothing to do with their Japanese arm. Square Enix doesn't separate it's operations the same way as they do and their NA branch simply represents their Japanese studios while Eidos deals with all development.
Square Enix simply doesn't respect their fans wishes as much as other companies. They're stuck using an archaic business model, desperately trying to modernise their operations while everyone fights against it.
My major fear is that your "movement" will have no effect but when the games are finally either localised or released, you'll claim it a success. You also don't understand our community. Don't you think we would have tried something like your project in the past if we truly thought it would have an effect? The majority of us want to see Versus and Type-0, but we don't care enough to suck up to them and still get denied anything anyway, just giving them a massive ego boost. We're an apathetic lot who accept that things will happen when they happen and that something like simply asking them to release a game obviously will not work.
tl;dr: We've been putting up with this shit long enough to know how to deal with it. We don't want you telling us how to waste our time.
and that picture is perfect Shan.

First its not my movement, I never claimed that its mine. And I wouldn't even claim it a success if the game was ever released(maybe others will do). All I care about is seeing the game localized, was it because of fans or for any other reason. What matters to me is just trying, even if it was a total failure, and I do think that it will fail, but not doing anything might not be any better, that's what I believe.
I apologize if I really offended you, didn't mean it.
What I fear is that across time people would just forget about this game, maybe even being overshadowed by Versus when it gets released and if it gets released.
Maybe we just have our different philosophies and approaches, although we might want the same thing in the end.
Hmm... A nice place to start would to begin by translating the game yourselves. However if groups want localization that strongly then the fan base should start a fundraiser and offer the profit to different publishers provided they release the content in an agreed area. Furthermore has the group considered buying the rights from S-E themselves. I know its a lot to ask but you cannot get sued for a patch or have to wonder about a fair translation if you own international rights a game.

We'll start the bidding at $20. That was going to be my Torchlight 2 money, but whatever.
