Lightning and Caius's fight.

I haven't played XIII-2 in long time, (I've been busy crying over Kaidan's face in ME3) and I saw someone's translations from the Ultimania thing. It said that Lightning and Caius's fight was in a loop, but I don't understand it at all.

Could someone, in very simple English, explain the whole loop thing to me? I know that time doesn't flow in Valhalla but this is so confusing, or my brain simply isn't switched on.

The entire time loop thing emplies that he final battle between Light and Caius in Valhalla isn't something that happens momentarily, rather, something that keeps going on throughout the beginning and till the end of time. It just keeps happening, since there's no time in Valhalla. It cannot be put in a certain time zone. It is also heavily implied that the Caius we see in the opening of the game is actually the one we battle at the end of the game (in the Lightninig dlc) and already has knowledge of things to come before even entering battle with her. This is because of a snapshot in the game's opening scene were he sees Coccon crashing into Pulse as he lays Yeul's dead body to rest, an event that was to occur 497 years after this game's opening. This never-ending battle actually ended once Noel's blade pierced through Caius (Etro)'s heart, an event which put all of time together and led to Lightning crystallizing herself. Now what's left to see is how this saga will continue. Personal opinion: it will follow the path of VII and release a CGI movie.

Just adding this from the top post: the Caius in the future, the one that Noel knew from his time, sent messages to all past Caius's through Valhalla to make his entire plan happen.

Thundadude is prolly talking about the translations in GameFaqs. I plan to go through the threads again to share the translations here and start a new discussion because the Ultimanias and the Fragments After novel have some interesting facts that can help us understand the messy plot more.
