Resident Evil 6 will let players experience survival horror from a different perspective. Detailed in Famitsu this week, the game has a new "Agent Hunt" mode which lets you play as a creature out to attack the main characters.
Different from the series' Mercenaries mode, Agent Hunt is integrated into the main game. Once you've cleared the game, you'll be able to set an option to open some stages to Agent Hunt play. This will allow other players to play as the creatures in certain stages. When another player has entered the stage as a creature, you'll be alerted, although you won't be told which creature is human controlled.
Multiple creatures can team up to attack a single player, using voice chat to communicate and strategize.
I wonder how they're gonna handle three main playable characters in the final boss fight.
and I can't believe Ada is working for the enemy. this has gotta be a trick
It's my policy to refrain from supporting Capcom or anything they do. However, playing as Wesker's kid intrigues me and that trailer cinched it. Definitely getting this game.
Concerning Ada I doubt it's a trick. During RE4 the game heavily hinted that she was working for an organization just as bad if not worse than Umbrella.
They're still not showing any of that Leon gameplay that's supposed to be more horror oriented. I can feel my skepticism growing. Still, game looks great.
So I got my hands on the demo, which is circulating the PSN and Live even as we speak. I'd like to open up some discussion about it, if anyone else has played.
Let me put it this way Shannon. The game will place you in a narrow hallway. In the middle of that hallway, there is a bloody body. It is obviously going to rise and become a zombie. I'm getting ahead of myself though; it should be noted that your character can and often does stumble over dead bodies in an animation that takes about a second and renders your helpless the whole time.
So you see this body, you know it's a zombie. You pull out your gun, you shoot it. This will do nothing as the zombie is invincible until the game tries to scare you with it. That's right! You cannot shoot any zombie while it's pretending to be a body. It is inexplicably invincible. So you try to skirt around it, but the hallway is intentionally too narrow for you to do so. The zombie absolutely will not rise until you trip over it and it lunges at you, essentially getting a free bar off of your health. Trying over and over again, I still haven't found a successful way to dodge this.
This happens half a dozen times in Leon's segment.
The demo was blah...I'm still gonna buy the game but the demo didn't do anything for me really.
I also got annoyed by Leon and Helena always tripping over a body. Like can they not step over or jump? Chris's part was ok. It felt like Resident Evil 5. I did like Sherry and Jake's demo the most. The transformations were cool.
Word-for-word exactly what I said when this occured. He got maybe a hundred feet in the thing.
And loverboy, yes, thank you. The implementation of tripping over bodies in plain sight is completely counterintuitive, especially when that body is usually an invincible zombie pretending to be a corpse and will get a free hit on you if you stumble on them NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU SHOOT THEM BLARGH.
