And yes, this is what I need before I sign-up to buy. And a PS3/Vita (is it both or just one?). Right now some of the characters are kinda neat, I guess, but none that make me go "Holy crap, X is in this game? OH EM GEE." It needs more of those, but Sony isn't really decked out with those kind of characters. They'd have to draw on a lot of 3rd part characters that they happen to own rights to, or do some discussion with some PS2-heavy devs from the day.

No company is original now a days. It's very difficult to come up with something original in a fighting game of that sort. Sony is just giving it's fans what another company already has. They need a game like this to expand the library, so stop shitting all over the place because you don't like the idea.
I'm not a big fan of fighting games, but this looks kind of cool, even more if they decide to add 3rd party characters. Can't wait for some Persona or Metal Gear characters in there.

Well, do as you wish. The thread is about the game, not how lame you think Sony is because of copying other's product, or how butthurt you think some of us are, making mirror of how butthurt actually YOU are.

Now, someone mentioned playing as Sly looks cool. I find it interesting the invisibility power he has.
And the mix of backgrounds and minigames too. I never played Smash Bros., so I clearly don't know if all these is the same in that game or not. But it's awesome.

I said the GAME looks like its going to be a copycat clone of Smash Brothers from Nintendo. I further expanded upon that and said I think its a copy because thats pretty much all sony has done over the years. They take a successful product that Nintendo or Microsoft has created and they copy it.
Hence to me based off the brief gameplay trailer and what has been said the GAME itself is going to be a straight up copy of Smash Bros. For the sony record has the legal right to do whatever they want and thats their business. But they shouldn't act all scandalized and shocked when people view them for what they are based of their recurring actions. Thats all I've got to say on it. Unless something new comes out that changes my mind thats the last thing I'll say in this thread since it clear that opinions other than "OMFG its the bestest game EVAH" are not welcome.
The level of hypocrisy is outstanding.

For the record I haven't played a fighting game since Soul Calibur 3. I just don't care for them. I just felt like putting it out there for no real reason at all but just to say it.

I wouldn't respond if you would simply treat me with respect like I treat others with respect. Saying I'm "butthurt" or that I"m "crying" are just jabs at me and I'm not sit back and let them go by.

The one minor thing that I've read which I think is a good move on sonys part is that each stage will combine themes from several games as opposed to Smash Bros where 1 stage is devoted solely to one character/game universe. That will help with differentiation but not much.
