New to the game

Hey guys, nice to be in this forum!

Brief background: I had the opportunity to play final fantasy 12 on the ps2 several years ago, but then I sold the system with all the games so ff13 is actually my first real experience in the ff series and in jrpg! I actually got this game when I bought my ps3 from a friend, I was planning to trade it in for another game but I'm glad I didn't. I'm just under 50 hours of game time and I have now made it to Gran Pulse where I am currently undertaking missions. I have yet to decide if I should complete all the missions first or go ahead with the main story? I don't feel it is wise to alternate between them, I also have many questions about weapons upgrades and so on, anyone cares to lend me a hand?

Never did the side-missions as they seemed pretty inconsequential. I made it through the game without all their tat or any significant upgrades/CP farming. If you're a completionist, go for it. If not, I'd just push on.

Yeah, what Singularity said. It's really up to you; even after you beat the game, you can go back and do all the Cie'th missions if you decide to do that.
