About the Lightning and Fang screen with the quote "If it weren't for Serah, I'd have been out there too. Hunting L'Cie." I think it may be, firstly, Serah becoming the first Pulse L'Cie, and Lightning being forced to reevaluate her view towards L'Cies, who are viewed by all Cocoon people as threats. I guess that was the first step to her "shifting" sides against the Sanctum. Then, she herself becomes a L'Cie too! I think that was the turning point. Also, you can see by the way the phrase "Hunting L'Cies" is used, that perhaps Fang is with the Sanctum doing some kind of rounding up of L'Cies? (In the Lake Bilge scene Snow happens to be the one being rounded up!)
Haha, and about Fang joining in at the end... I'm so sorry for being the one to raise that up! Well, remember; it's not like it was released in some magazine or anything, so it's not official. Plus, the rumour may be wrong in that Fang is last to join, and not that she's joining towards the end of the game. I don't want her to join so late in the game too... And let's just look at a case study: Rikku in FFX! We got to play her a bit at the start, then she joined proper when we reached the Moonflow. And that's about... One third through the game?
I just don't want to hear anything near 'end' lol. I want the story to span for quite some time..
Yeah... When I hit the home stretch of the game, I don't want the beginning to have been so long ago that I've forgotten what happened, but still I want to sit back and think "Wow, that all feels so long ago! Can't believe everything we've been through..."
Minor IX Spoiler - Like in Final Fantasy IX, at the end, when Zidane tells Garnet that the kidnapping can go no further, sudden rush of memories from the start of the game.

Haha, now that's what I really loved about FFIX! The romance between Zidane and Garnet blossomed so much better IMO, compared to in FFVII and VIII. It was just the right shades of cheesiness/sweetness/etc... And all the thematic threads in the game that flesh out deeper undercurrents... I would almost go to say that it was a literary work in it's own right! And not to forget the homage that it payed to the essence of FF... I hope Square Enix does another "homage" piece again, going back to it's roots but with a modern interpretation! =D
What literature have you been reading? IX was fantastic but you'd have to rack your brain a bit to compare IX favorably to any notable literary work. Now, if you said Bret Easton Ellis, that would be a different story...
Can't help but notice FFX's team penchant for brilliant dialog. Sugar and rainbows.
I notice that they're cutting back on the poly count like in XII. I'm sure it'll look fantastic in-game, but that looks pretty blocky in the pics. It's all good though.

FANG AND LIGHTENING ARE
Anyways, I call that Fang is not working with Sanctum/ is not at their side since she is a L'Cie. I think the Sanctum Soldiers in that Gun Point Screen are just L'Cie in disguise... it does sound cliche, though...
Fang to Vanille: "We're still gonna have our talk."
Hm, I wonder what thats suppose to mean? Maybe it could be something about their mission for being spies for Sanctum? Or it could be something about Pulse? (Ugh, December needs to hurry up and get here.)

I agree as well. The only time I get the "Look where we've gotten" feeling is when I'm actually close and into the story. Here's to hoping it will unravel that way
Speaking of chocobos, I would have been glad to hear Chocobos being used in Pulse. It's said to be a vast wilderness and I wouldn't see the reason to not have them in such a beautiful vista of nature..

Haha, I don't think Vanille's gonna' be a spy... If she is it's really gonna' be such a huge "appearance don't match reality" thing; but I guess that's what makes a good spy, huh! xD
I think that line just shows how Fang is saying that Vanille can't escape a conversation that Fang wants to have, but Vanille wants to avoid. Some conversation about some cruel truth that Vanille has problems accepting? Could be related to the conversation between Sazh and Vanille... I really think it just has to do with that "deep burden" that Vanille hides in her heart that she wants to avoid/escape from, but doesn't know how to because she feels trapped/at a loss.
shadows really sux ! and as I told before I really feel gloomy with details on battle scenes ..... flat grounds I dont remembre that I saw a battle shot with grasses and bushes, that sux
FUCKING PS2 GRASS TEXTURES WILL LOWER MY ENJOYMENT OF THIS GAME. HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSE TO LIKE THE GAMEPLAY IF THE GRASS TEXTURES LOOK LIKE SHIT? HOW WILL I BE IMMERSED IN THE STORY AND BECOME ATTACHED TO THE CHARECTERS IF THEIR SHADOWS REALLY SUX? I'M SO DISSAPOINTED BECUASE FINAL FANTASY IS ALL ABOUT THE TEXTURES AND GRAPHICS. NO GOOD TEXTURES, NO GOOD GAME.
Like FFXII, XIII seems to be cutting back the poly count for the sake of texture res and scale. So, like XII, I don't think the HD pics are really indicative of the actual in game graphics. There is also the fact that Pulse appears to be enormous in the grandest possible sense. Corners have to be cut. This is a reason why 70% of development time is spent creating great artwork with these games; to help leaven the disparity between it and the advancing engines out there.
I suppose you could say "well thats all subjective, the art is only going to be as good as someone determines it to be", but I don't really believe in that kind of thinking in this case. FFXIII appears to surpass everything else out there from an artistic standpoint, unless there is something completely under the radar.
