Firstly, thank Rob for taking the time to update some features on the forum such as the 'Invite Only' feature. He has updated so no one can randomly post in our group.

Secondly, I'm having some trouble with the ATB Mini-Game. The idea was that it revolved around a Random Number Generator/Dice which would range from 1-3, 1-4, 1-5, and 1-6 (depending on your ATB Bar).

The main problem is finding a place to host the number generator mainly because we need a log to ensure what number a person has rolled. In order for us to incorporate the log feature, we need to have a Database (MySQL).

Until then.. here is a page which I have been working on. This mini-game was suppose to be something on the side while we wait for the U.S. Version.:

There is hope that I can build a Flash roller. Still, I need a log to keep track so we don't have cheaters lying about their ATD roll. Also, there is more to the ATB Mini-Game, so don't think this is just the basis.

So do you know exactly what you would need for the log, or to run/hold the database, exactly?

My friend gave me this .php file which includes his code for a roller. Basically, I would need to pay for a damn server since MySQL isn't free.

I mean unless I can do something with Flash, I don't expect much to happen. The only way for it to work is if we figure out how the number generation would work.

Wow, amazing work Falsate! =D I get what you're doing, and it looks like it's a good concept! A lot to think about and create though... Whoa!

The only other way to go about it would be to try and keep a manual log, as far as I can tell. Unless you can find a way to get the random number generator and the log up and online somewhere, there doesn't seem to be any other option.

There is a way to change the logging. We can easily get a random number generator for a system like Rock-Paper-Scissors. For the ATB Complex System (which I'm about to post below), you need a Roll Log to keep track OR we need an active chat with the script. <--- With this way, we can easily see for ourselves instead of logging.

We don't need a log when you think about it, BUT, if we have monster battles then we'd need to keep a log. Wouldn't want people facing NPCs/Monsters claiming they won when they really got their behind wiped by a Vegeta-pudding.

However, we can still do the chat method with a script in there. : D

This is how the mechanics would work. Think of ATB Commands that can cancel each others while some don't. We would have a chat and a logger. By having a chat (something like the chatbox, but stays connected), it makes this game more fun and in real-time.

Notice Hynad and Aeris each have an ATB Level of 6. This means they can use the roller from 1-6. If it were an ATB Level of 3, they could only use the roller from numbers 1-3.

Pay attention to their ATK and DEF.

PRE-EMPTIVE STRIKE PHASE
Now, they both have to roll to see who goes first. The roller goes from numbers 1-6 and this is not based on ATB Level. It will always be roll 1-6 to see who goes first with the HIGHER number winning. If it is equal, roll again to see who gets a higher number. Thanks to the use of the random numbers, it is never guaranteed who will go first.

Hynad wins with a number of 6 while Aeris rolled 4. Now Hynad rolls again to see how many commands he can stock in his ATB Bar. Hynad rolls a number of 4 for his ATB Cost (meaning any commands he choose can not exceed the sum of 4).
