I just really liked Songbird at the end, I dunno. I've talked to a lot of people who would have preferred to fight him / it / whatever but it wasn't really an enemy, in my opinion. If anything, it was Elizabeth's guardian and friend who had been twisted. She cared about it, and it cared about her. That wouldn't have been a satisfying battle.
That incarnation of Rapture could have been a door and not the actual Rapture, in the same way all the lighthouses weren't the actual lighthouses. I think people are reading a bit too deeply into the bathysphere scene when really it was just a bit of fan service.
I got sad at the part with the Songbird at the end. ;;
