I'll describle here the original concept or origin of monsters we know in any Final Fantasy.
Suggestions are welcome! :)

I'll start with...

BEHEMOTH:

Behemoth is name of a fantastic creature describled in the Bible, in the Book of Jó, 40:15-24. Hebrew language is transcribed as בהמות, Bəhēmôth, Behemoth, B'hemot; in Arabic بهيموث (Bahīmūth) or بهموت (Bahamut).
His description is traditionally associated with a giant monster, and can be portrayed as a monstrous lion, although some creationists identify as a sauropod. In another analysis we see this as a prehistoric animal well known as Brachiosaurus. The stories in the book of Jó Chapter 40 (Bible) point to this large herbivore. This creature has a dreadnought body and is typical of deserts (although Behemot also be called as the Hebrew hippos).

"Comteplate at the behemoth which I made with you, that eateth grass like an ox. Behold, his strength is in his loins, and his power in the muscles of his belly. He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his thighs are knit together. His bones are tubes of bronze, his limbs like rods of iron. It is a masterpiece of God's ways, what did the provided his sword.

Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field rejoice. He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of reeds and mud. The shady trees cover it, with his shadow, the willows of the brook surround him.

Behold, a river overflows, and he does not hurry, yet confident that the Jordan stand up to his mouth. Can you perhaps would hunt the sight of their eyes, or with ties to stick your nose?" Chapter 40 Bible.

According to Orthodox Jewish tradition, its mission is to wait for the day when God will ask you to kill the Leviathan, a sea creature believed by some as resembling a whale. The two creatures will die in combat, but the behemoth will be glorified by fulfilling its mission.

The name is the plural of the Hebrew בהמה, bəhēmāh, "animal" with emphatic sense ( "big animal", "animal par excellence"). In Orthodox Jewish tradition, Behemoth is the monster of the land par excellence, as opposed to Leviathan, the monster of the sea and Ziz, the monster of the air. Says a Jewish legend that Behemoth and Leviathan will face the end of time, killing each other, so their meat will be served at a banquet to humans who survive.

ADRAMELECH:

Adramelech is one of the ten negative Sephiroth's, led by Samael, the Angel of the poisoning. His cult was (likely) origin in Syria, later being introduced in Samaria. In the cults Adramelech, children were sacrificed.

In demonology, Adramelech is considered the great ambassador of hell, superintendent of the wardrobe of the devil and president of the supreme council of hell. He frequently appears in the form of a mule or a peacock.

In Sumerian religion of Adramelech (Adrammelech) he was considered the Sun God and thus the center of religion, in his description he is regarded as a man and makes a kind of contare with Anammelech, Moon Goddess.

But also appears before Adramelech was one of negative sephirots, its appearance in the "tree of death" (originally death in the case would be "daath" as it appears in Kabbalah) is the inverse of the tree of life which is also the path to enlightenment in the tree of death shows the way to the inferno.Adramelech would be the right hand to Samael (Lucifer or as I prefer) and thus a negative sephirots of the tree of death.

IFRIT:

In ancient Arabic, ifrit (male) (Arabic: عفريت, عفاريت), and ifritah (female), are the names given to a class of Jinn hell, notorious for its great strength and cunning.

A ifrit or Efreet (or ifritah) presents itself as a huge winged creature made of fire, who lives underground and socialize with ruins. Common weapons are nothing against them, however, is susceptible to magic, can become victims or slaves of humans who have mastered the proper techniques *(Summoners). The ifrits live in a society organized along tribal lines in Arabic, with kings, tribes and clans. Generally, they marry each other, but they can also marry humans. Most of the stories, people are lucky ifrits detained for magicians in magic lamps and forced to grant wishes.

Just as the jinni in general, ifrit can be described as believers (in Islam) and infidels, good or bad. More often they are portrayed as vicious and ruthless. It is also quoted in the Arabian Nights.

IXION:

Among the three greatest villains of Greek mythology, along with Sisyphus and Tantalus. Both the fault of Tantalus and justice in the punishment of Sisyphus is questionable, however, there is no argument to defend Ixion.

Ixion, son of Phlegyas, descendant of the God-Rio Peneus was king of the tombstones, a people who lived in Thessaly, near the mountains Peli and Ossa. Having fallen in love with Dia, daughter of Dione, promised him their horses in exchange for the hand of his daughter. After the wedding, Ixion denied his father the horses which he had promised, he would just react to the taking by force what it was owed, making Ixion swore revenge. Having failed to decide between death and suffering to his father, Ixion chose both: a camera built inflammatory and camouflaged it in your home as a room. Dione, having accepted an invitation to reconciliation Ixion went to his house and fell into his trap. While he was cremated, his cries of despair took Ixion to repentance, but it was too late. When you open the door of the chamber, Ixion came across the charred body of his father.

After his crime, the remorse caused Ixion going crazy, and his madness did wander in the world as a beggar. The only way to regain sanity would be undergoing a purification for the punishment for the crime, but nobody knew the ritual itself to the case, since no one ever before had killed a member of his family.
Ixion stuck in the wheel.

Seeing the suffering of Ixion, Zeus took pity on. Restores his sanity and invited him to partake of the feast of the Gods, that invitation was promptly accepted by the mortal. Having been drunk at nectar, Ixion spent harassing the wife of his host, the very Ivy Cronos. This, to realize the intentions of the visitor warned her husband about the intentions of his guest. It seems that Zeus was with an abnormally good mood this day, for instead of get angry, I find the situation amusing, and to test his guest forged a semblance of his own wife using a cloud, and left her alone with Ixion, who possessed. Conúbio Thus was born the race of Centaurs, half men, half horses. All Centaurs are descendants of Ixion, except Chiron (teacher of Achiles among others) and Folo.

Having owned Nephele believing this to be Hera, Ixion bade farewell to the gods and returned to Earth and, having arrived, reported for the first mortal who found that he had possessed the wife of Zeus himself. This, finally, was angry to see the possibility of raising the reputation of being betrayed by a mortal. Ixion was immediately struck by lightning and thrown into Tartarus, where he was attached to a wheel on fire and THUNDER, and ordered to turn it for eternity.

BAHAMUT:

Bahamut originally comes from an aquatic creature of mythology Arabic, even though this figure has enormous and complex processes of modernization over time, so today, "Bahamut" is something completely different.

One could say that the original Bahamut was a gargantuan fish that lived in a vast sea. On his back bearing the burden of a huge bull that is called Kujata, who says, has four hundred eyes, four hundred noses, four hundred mouths, four hundred languages, four hundred ears, four hundred legs, a large number of appendices from each of which there is a distance of five hundred years of travel, which gives an abstract idea of the size of the creature, also abstract. Kujata supports on its back, in turn, a ruby on which rests an angel, who, in turn, supports the seven hells, which support the earth where in turn it on, are the seven heavens.

In current folklore, Bahamut is reinterpreted as a great dragon, usually as the king or follower of those who reach convince you (for very special, or indeed simply to fight done, because that is its nature as a warrior).

So many people are so lucky I've been busy with work for the last few days, but though the mills of God grind slowly they grind incredibly fine.

For starters, if I have to move, or become aware that someone else has had to move, another one of your threads OUT of the General Chat forum you'll start getting warnings for spamming. I've told you before, it is a catch-all forum ONLY when there is no other appropriate forum. What's this thread about? Monsters in Final Fantasy. And what's that? WE HAVE A FINAL FANTASY FORUM? HOLY SHIT, WHIPLASH, I'M FLABBERGASTED!!!!

Secondly, someone is going to get a tap on the shoulder for double posting when we have a nice, clean, shiny Edit button.

And thirdly, for god's sakes people, you can find all this in Google! For example, here's the first thing that came up when I searched 'Final Fantasy mythology'
