FFXIII demo available on PS3 store ?

According to several sources across the internet, the April issue of EGM has news of a [Final] Fantasy XIII demo coming to the PlayStation Store.

Details are very [sparce] on this, and no release date for the demo has been confirmed. Hopefully we'll know more about what the demo will contain and when it'll be released very soon.

In the meantime we'll be trying to pick up an April copy of EGM to see what they have to reveal.

I read this an hour ago on the GameTrailers forums and held my breath :P Its ashame theres no real evidence to back it up though, EGM aren't the most reliable source and it could just be a cruel joke. Anyway! Pros and Cons of this rumor!

Pros
- They did say we would get a demo at next E3 (at the expo though, not publicly)
- The XII demo was released a year before the full game and XIII could be similar

Cons
- The White Engine is still partly in development according to interviews
- We only have one trailer so it seems unlikely
- Gameplay is usually shown at an expo before released publicly

Well, EGM has an April Fools jokes tradition in their April issues, if anyone remember the last time when they pulled a KH prank. And even if it's NOT an april fools joke, EGM has a really sucky reputation and most of their 'top stories' end up false.

Well I think this is the May issue they're talking about because according to our trusted American source, OC :P theres nothing in the April issue. We'll have to wait till she or someone else gets it.

Well... they did state 'soon'. If the demo will only be released in a couple of months, that certainly can't be considered as 'soon'..

(http://www.psu.com/node/9513)Playstation Universe (http://www.psu.com/node/9513) today reported on a rumor that the April issue of EGM contained news of an FFXIII demo hitting the Playstation Store store this month. Thanks to our staff member Omni-Cloud we have a scan of the EGM page.

According to EGM a demo for FFXIII will be released onto the Playstation Store late this year. Unfortuantly there is no official source for this information. Nomura has already said that the game will not be released this year but a demo is possible if development has moved forward. According to Toriyama from E3 last year, a demo of the game was supposed to be shown at this years expo but it is unclear whether it's still set to make an appearance.

Since EGM is announcing this, I'll try not to be too disappointed if it wasnt true. After all they were to same to say that FF7 was being remade (those dirty b@asdfjkl0). And also that KH2FM was coming to the US. Its not confirmed if it will, but I doubt it.

I'll sign this as unconfirmed., but ill keep my hopes up. Its not that bad whith some more clips, but i cant wait to feel how the real time battle system will be.

Well, I should be getting May's issue of EGM in a week or so. The subscription I have sends the magazine about a month ahead of time. So hopefully there will be more information about FFXIII. If not, we'll just have to play the waiting game.

neither am i ;) days later comes up an article saying that nomura intends to release a demo later then expected.thats what happened when we got news of a possible ffxiii release date

Unfortunately, I dont think we'll be seeing a demo anytime soon. Especially at E3. The earliest time I expect a demo is the Tokyo Game Show, which is a long time away.
