See the problem with that post is that you didn't bring up RAD at all. Focused on the other two flawed but good games.

RAD is so fucking sick it is unreal! Except the horrible voicework. I normally don't complain about stuff like that but it is so bad that I must mention it.

Odin Sphere is pretty. Very difficult and the repeating level tiles can get annoying to some (not me). Main draw is it is pretty and responsive but some attacks leave you beyond open.

Riviera, don't ask me. Never got drawn into the GBA version right off the back. It is a adventure game with a battle system and a dating sim in there. Pretty too and battles are fun.

In conclusion, RAD AAA.

The first official Sandlot game and the one that got released abroad as Robotic Alchemic Drive. To all intents and purposes, this was Remote Control Dandy deluxe. The game focused on controlling each limb of your mecha from a fixed viewpoint, much like Dandy. The tech that had been prototyped on Mikazuki was taken further with Gigantic Drive. In addition to your bog standard skyscraper sized mecha, two of three available robots actually transformed too (one into huge tank and the other a futuristic war plane (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQY9HLD-Q90)).
The biggest change over Dandy and Mikazuki was that the arms for each of the mecha were controlled via the left and right anologue sticks respectively. This resulted in the game really feeling like a mechanical puppet show; not to mention mastering punches, jabs and uppercuts was a more demanding affair than simply pressing a single button (a la Dandy).
Gigantic Drive also introduced the ability to have the human characters attack one another, rather than just getting stepped on by their mechanical avatars. This produced some interesting instances where finding the other player in multiplayer meant securing an easier win (after all if you took them out with a well placed grenade they wouldn’t be able to control their mecha).
I, personally, have many fond memories associated with this game. When I was living in Japan, local kids used to come over and play games. Gigantic Drive consequently got lots of versus playtime and several vocal victory dances (by the kids, not me).

God good, I was freaking creeped out the first time I saw the regenerator. D;

That and the whole standing on the pier on the lake. When I was eaten suddenly, that freaked me out too.
I didn't find the regenerators that scary until I maimed them. Ironically they're most dangerous when they're crippled. In Professional mode they'll hop at you really quickly after you shoot our their legs. D: That pissed me off beacuse you HAD to shoot out its legs to get at the parasite on its back.

The Del Lago part scared me as well, but it didn't happen to me until the third playthrough lol. I was just stading on the pier using the Chicago Typewriter (Best weapon ever. 100 damage/ second... Wow) to shoot fish when Del Lago just appears out of nowhere and eats me. :blink:

One other thing that creeped me out was during the part in the prison after you fight Krauser I think. You open that red box and see what appears to be a sack. THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT STARTS WRIGGLING. I shot it and it stopped moving. I walked up to it and saw that it had a freaking mouth. :ohmy: I'd be pissing my pants if you had to fight those things.

The last boss was just sad though. Saddler was incredibly easy. I mean it only takes one shot to get him on the ground then all you do is press x to stab him. You don't even have to keep tapping it.

Now Krauser was a hard boss on Professional. I died exactly 60 times before finally beating him with the knife.

it is decent. Has some problems: slowdown in sieges, sneaking parts, QTE's, etc. But through in through I enjoyed my time with the game. It is 29.99 or less now so buying it on a whim is much more likely.

The Orange Box for PS3, a good enough purchase I guess. TF2 is the showpiece, but the PS3 version is stripped down to the basics. Half-Life 2 is technically good but kinda dark for my taste. Portal is a nice little piece from a storytelling/aesthetics perspective, but I don't care for the puzzle gameplay.

Its there, but to see it, you actually have do do quests.

Not only is the gold and or other crap your reward, you get more info. Its a quite good system, and you can do whatever you want, whenever you want. I think you should have at least done the Dark Brotherhood Guild before you sold it. Its epic.

I'm just not into WRPGs. It focuses more on sidequests and stat whoring than it does on storyline and characters.

Really what WRPG's do you play? Icewind Dale and Elder Scrolls? Come on, if you actually wanted to get into WRPG's you would be playing Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights II, Ultima, etc. Not the world sim of Elder Scrolls or the stratgic dungeon running of Icewind Dale.

Oblivion does have some amazing things going on in it's world but you have to be interested in finding them. Personally I love the Grey Prince quest for example, the way you go on finding the truth makes it sad. Oblivion may hold your hand unlike Elder Scrolls II (or even III) but it's not spoon-feeding you the shit that gets pasted off as "story" for most JRPG's. Sadly I almost play entirely JRPG's and whenever I go to a WRPG I cry because of features it has had for 12+ years that JRPG's don't have.

That game broke my PS3s internal memory card. Ever since, I've hated the game with a passion, and the game is so unbalanced. The gameplay gets so redundant with always having to heal your characters about 5 times every battle (30+ for bosses) and the story was so predictable. Really a shame because I wanted to like it ;(

Well, I've been playing it for a few hours so far, and it's really good so far, if not a bit difficult... I'm still trying to work out a good way to arrange my unions and units so I can actually stand a chance in a battle. I'm still loving it.

But I live in Australia. $110 is the usual price for most new Xbox 360 games over here, but they're starting a Christmas sale now, and since they got the game in late, the manager let me have it for the sale price before the sale actually started. It was awesome. :P

And battles have an epic feel to it, it can take sometimes 30 minutes to an hour to complete a full battle. And its not that complicated to understand... but you must know STRATEGY to succeed. Just beat Star Ocean First Departure, it's pretty good. I still like SO3 better but was money well spent all in all!

Pick it up if you like RPGS. I'd give it a 8.5/10 Rating.
