I actually made this on PaintShop Pro, that scared me, for some reason Photoshop didn't want to load.
Meh, this came out better than expected, still i hate the fact the 'Cloud' overlaps the edging, i didn't want it to but when i re-sized the font it looked so noobish, also tryed a few other different fonts but they didn't really suit the white edging so i was kinda stuck with this one.

The purpose of this thread is to rate avatars. Clearly "most people" doesn't fit the quota of "all people", so saying that you didn't rate my avy because most people have already had it done is like saying you're not gonna exist because the sky is blue.

You misunderstand me. I know the purpose of the thread is to rate avatars, but I thought that you rated people when they come here and ask to be rated, I didn't think you just gave a rating for the person who posted before you. In that context me saying that most people had already been rated anyway makes sense because I figured most people would've already asked and had it rated so I didn't need to add to that.

But obviously now, thanks to your less than friendly heads up, I know how this thread is supposed to work, and I'm doing it. 9/10 for yours.

Oh you know what you should try, Maora Tezuka? After applying gaussian blur, go to Edit > Fade Gaussian blur, and play around with that. It still keeps it pretty sharp but has this awesome glow to it. 8D

..and believe me it wasn't meant for you to read. It's merely a decoration/vector image to fill out the text space so that it wouldn't look so typical, well, at least not to the people with basic common sense. And if that idea sounds too esoteric for you, then you might as well back away from the graphics section, because clearly its not for you. lol

I hope Askyria wont mind me exploiting her awesome avvs for this lecture, but see here, these are two AMAZING avvs. But none of them contain legible text. and ha if you were to attempt reading the text, dude, they'd kill your eyes.

You gotta feel lucky that mine at least had the obvious XIII in it for you to decipher.

Hence, my point: "Small text don't make horrible avatars."
On the side note, the blur applied to the image is what's commonly known to us graphics people, as the "Gaussian Blur" Overlay effect. So if that's a problem for you, then big time.

I totally agree with Miabbey. I happen to love her avatars, and this one is no exception. The text and little graphic with it flows beautifully with the image, and I think it looks awesome.

Also, as Miabbey pointed out, I use tiny tiny TINY basically impossible to read text sometimes (those avatars are examples). Tiny text is for DECORATION. It's not MEANT to be read. If you don't think it looks nice, okay, but frankly I don't really care because I do and I'm sure a lot of other people do since it's very popular.

About the Gaussian blur, I use that. I use that a lot. I even posted the technique I used someplace here in these forums not too long ago for MaoraTezuka. Gaussian blur + fade makes the image have a glow to it, if you know what I mean, if you don't overuse it. Again, if you don't like the blur, too bad for you because I'm still using it.

Oh yeah, and 9.8/10 for Miabbey. Just a tad too much Gaussian blur. xD I love the rest though, looks gorgeous.
