I remember when the first screens from XIII started appearing they were talking about how this would be the first FF game to actually display different equipped armors on the character models, but in all the screens and videos released since I've seen no such thing. was this just something they planned to implement but never came to fruition, or has it just been carefully hidden up to this point?

They have shown a few. Once when vanille is wearing one of the robes, one where snow has no shirt and is bandaged up, and when serah and snow are riding around on that flying thing.

I don't remember them saying anything like that.

And Gd_Master16 (http://finalfantasy-xiii.net/forums/member.php?u=7037) you just described different cutscene models, not different gameplay models.

How can you notice little shit like this??!! D:
If it were the case, I would make Serah wear the shortest skirt in the game :aldo:

Oh, I thought he meant throughout the whole game... Yeah that would'nt have made sense cause other FF's have had different cutscene models... sorry...

Yeah, don't remember anything mentioned in that regard either.

Maybe he's confusing the fashion conscious thing with Versus?

no that was one of the initial announcements about the game when the first screens of lightning in battle were released. they said it'd be the first FF game to feature armor displayed in game

Really, who cares?

I'm glad they didn't made it. It would be meaningless.

It would be a nice touch graphically, but beyond that it's not really necessary or anything.
Then again it could be like FFVII or X where you have only one or two different pieces of armour, and they only show on your characters bodies in a very small capacity, like, on their arm or something.

I think that's FFXIV you're thinking about :wtf:

I don't believe that's going to be happening. I usually dislike having armor that you can't see and I always question how armor could make you stronger when half the time it's about dodging the opponents actions in reality.

It is a fantasy game, but I would prefer to have Accessory slots instead of armor because those are readily seen on the character and are just as useful.

I'm sure I've heard that it will happen in FFXIV.

No, if you pay attention on FFX, you can see the different armours in battle when you change them. And FFVII I only mentioned as a reference to the fact that it only has one armour slot.
I have no idea about what can happen in FFXIV so I can't comment on that.

of course you will see that on FFXIV never play FFXI? lol u see every inch of armor u put on even ring and smallest head euip.

more people here needed to play FFXI and never will be free. ask parents for higher allownce.

FFX should shield and weapon euip. FF8 show only weapons 7 only weapons and below 7 non. XII was like X shield and weapon euip.

If anything less people need to have played FFXI, it was crap and didn't deserve the amount of subscribers that it got.

No no..I'm not saying it will happen on XIV because I know that..
The last line was actually agreeing with people saying that he was thinking of the armor being seen was going to happen on XIV. I ment to quote him. I have seen XI, so I know when you equip armor it will be seen. In general, MMOs always show what you're about to equip.

My guess for not having the equipment like armor being seen in console RPGs is because it takes away from the characters original design and when they change to a CGI scene, it would be weird to see a sudden displacement of armor. Unless it was magical armor that only activates and is seen during battle.

Besides that, I still think it should be Accessory/Specialty slots instead in main installments.

I was waiting for someone to say this. This is the reason I don't think Square will have different graphics for each armor/weapon/etc. It would make no sense if you decked out Snow in the most tacky looking gear only for him to go back to his regular trench coat look in the next cut-scene and then return to his tacky club-wear right after.
