Hey forum people,
I've been coming to this site for too long and only recently realized there was a forum.
A little backdrop about me
I'm 25, I play basketball and though my girlfriend may seem not to mind, I'm always playing some game or RPG, trying to find out who the next best storyteller is. I guess that would be why I play games; for the story. I will trudge through mediocre gameplay or even mediocre voice acting if the story is captivating and the characters are engaging. It seems in the past 10 years that most games have gone the other way: focusing on awesome graphics, fun game play and music, but leaving the story and character growth up to a 3 year old's imagination (no offense to any 3 year old's on this board:D).
I'm one of those people who believe FFVII was a brilliantly written tale with much passion put into the details and background story of each element of the game. To this day it has become my standard that I measure against, but I know many of you think otherwise. I also believe Crisis Core was a very, very well done prequel that kept the same integrity of the original intact; not to mention the great battle system and voice acting in the English version.
Glad to meet you all
p.s. is it just me or has anyone else noticed that for the longest time now elemental magic doesn't seem to have the same usefulness anymore? Like any element will attack most enemies for the same amount of damage, unless you're in those 'elemental maps' where it's all snow and then obviously fire will do less.
