Ok! So does everyone remember when Nomura stated that Noctis is a tragic hero?
Well, in Shakespearean terms, a tragic hero is the protagonist of the story, but this character has a flaw which leads to his death.
Eg. Hamlet: Flaw=indesicivness:P
King Lear: Flaw=Lack of judgement:|
Macbeth: Flaw=Avraice:|
etc.......
:rolleyes::rolleyes:
What do you think will Noctis' flaw will turn out to be? Bearing in mind that at one stage Nomura mentioned that we may not like this protagonist at all...O_O>_<

I hated this shit when we did King Lear last year.

He's selfconscious, so he uses to much time in front of a mirror while the castle he's in gets bombed and ends up collapsing over him.

LMAO! METROSEXUALITY WILL BE HIS DOWNFALL! *dun dun duuuunnnn*

On a more serious note...
Maybe he's an cold, arrogant jackass (unappealing characteristic) who develops feelings for Stella but she's the enemy (cliche, I know >_<). He may think that if he falls in luv, it may ruin his badass persona that he has worked so hard to create; not to mention may bring about unnecessary bloodshed from both sides. Then, somewhere down the line, he dies (noble sacrifice, suicide, failure, etc.)

I know it sounds predictable, but...Meh, it's something.

Wasn"t Noct's voice the only bad thing about him? According to Nomura people will not like his way of speaking.

Want to bet he'll speak with a lisp. Or maybe he'll slur his words.

noctis becomes a werewolf at the night, and gets shot by stella because she didn't know it was him

There is a difference between voice and a way of speaking.

I dont remeber Noctis being described as a tragic hero, I remember the story was said to have a tragedy (no, I'm not confusing with Shekaspeare quote).

Everyone should die.

And Nomura should be booted back to character designs.

LOL! Yeah, Main character dies. Doesn't get any more tragic than that.

... There's something tragic about Noctis - Noctis, we're talking about - dying?

Here's something tragic about Noctis; The pronunciation for Noctis means "Enough Penis" in my language. I might be confusing tragic and comic here...

What's tragic? The fact that it translates to "Enough Penis", or the fact that it's not "Not Enough Penis?"

Hmm.. I think his flaw will be that he'll fall sooooo in love with Stella, and begin acting like an asshole to his friends. He'll start using shotgun guy for target practice, he'll give scar-eyed guy another scar and joke him for it, and he'll break the glasses guy's glasses, and at the final battle, just when you're about to win, they'll go "Screw this" and leave him.

If Noctis is a Shakespearian 'tragic hero' I think his flaw will be overconfidence. He looks as if he exerts no effort whatsoever when fighting in the videos shown so far. I think his belief in his skills will lead to him being either extremely badly injured, or death.

So you're norwegian too, I presume?

I also reacted on that when I first heard it. Like german people named "Buseman". ugh.

Anyway, I guess Caelum will be more like an anti-hero, the player naturally roots for him and his companions since we are following his cause and get insight trough the world via his perceptions. Kinda like how in Ocean's Eleven they're all thieves, but since the charaters are portrayed in such a charismatic way you hope they will get away with all the money. From a neutral perspective they are breaking many norms and would alltogether be considered wrong.

I guess that's versus XIII will have to play out, Noctis will be portrayed in such a manner that the player will be able to identify with him due to the "realistic" and human aspects of the game.

Perhaps he'll have some over-the-top accent.
Maybe he'll have an annoying verbal tic.
He could say things in riddles, or something.

Jesus Christ, you guys are assuming the world with Prince Noctwat. Hardly any relevant piece of info about him as come out with the exception that he's a fucking weenie around strangers and tries to be a TUFF GAI.

A-at any rate, the Mrs. is right. We've got nothin' on 'em.
Might as well drop it until The Flagship comes out.

Centered text isn't proper, it's a pain in the ass. Left aligned text is default for a reason.

Yeah I feel the same way, as long as they're not too much of an asshole then it can be quite enjoyable watching a dickhead character do his dickhead thing :awesome:

Depending on what kind of asshole the cahracter is, I agree.
Arogant and sarcastic is a good combo.
Stupid, cowardly and loudmouthed is a bad combo.

i think noctis' flaw will be............ thinking too much about other people... and then gets himself killed....... haha....... oh yeah, and I hope Noctis and Stella become friends.... i'm thinking they will be since it feels like Noctis doesn't want to be different from everyone else (referring to the ability to see the light) and seeing that Stella sees it too, he'll be comfortable about it .... hahahah

He'll be like Cloud and question every damn thing with some social disorder only to actually grow a pair (as in the last 5 minutes of the game) and fight his arch nemesis who has an oedipus/electra complex. Story solved with belts, zippers and over sized swords to boot ;).

He'll then have a bunch of fanboy/girls who absolutely adore his emo nature (even if he does end up killing himself or whatever his death will be since he's "tragic"). They'll then emphaize with him by associating their own broken home so they'll all join the emo bandwagon.

Next, SE will milk the game and produce another disorganized narrative bringing back Notics who then...yet again...drags himself or repeats his lil endevaor making us question "Did he learn any fucking thing in his game?!?!?!?111?"

Oh and did I mention we'd be chasing that villain everywhere and he'd have no direct influence within the game's gameplay?

Noct has powerful personality but it seems he doesn't show it out.

Well, putting myself in his shoes (not literally dear god they're pointy) I'd think the most likely flaw would be choosing what's best for him or his country.... Personal feelings can easily be brought into politics, so either he could be ignoring what he thinks feels is right, for what he thinks is best in the long run or possibly allow his emotions to control his leadership decisions too much.... On an added note, I like run on sentences.... Just my two cents....
