Can you guys believe it's been more than 3 years?
This is a thread for the nostalgia fags!
The trailer that gave me a nosebleed the first time I witnessed it.
A LOT of stuff has changed.

I feel no nostalgia about the times when FFXIII had very little available information. I'm more excited about now, when we have new stuff appearing on an almost daily basis.

Well, your definitely right about that! lol
What I mean is that it was a magical moment for me. The cold wintry wind outside my window blew as I sipped down a cup of hot cocoa. The Christmas lights were engaged in a rhythmic dance of sparkles. The snow outside my window was so beautiful. This all happened as I gazed at Lightning for the very first time on a 57" Plasma TV.

Only about 10 seconds of that trailer is actually in the final game.
And looking back, the quality of the CGI is abysmal.

Yeah I remember that trailer. I had already saved $1,200 back then. $500 for the PS3, $100 for the game and another $600 for HD TV.

As The Master Said. I liked the game at that time but right now I'm absolutely crazy about it. It's really amazing how it has evolved around time like how lightning started with brown hair and is now pinkish.

Actually, I honestly remember being in this state, when it was December, and Final Fantasy 13 was so fantasmal and overwhelming for me, I was so excited to hear more news, I sort've just fell in love with it somehow. I will always have that nostalgic feeling of the first month or so I learned about FF13. Now with this new trailer, it seems just as legendary as it was in winter.

It seems like so long ago that we didn't have any information. I heard the game was only like 3% done at the time of that trailer, now it's 90%.
Here's a neat video that seems sorta relevant:

The realtime graphics are looking even better in the recent trailers.

I enjoyed that comparison. Really is amazing what they can do with graphics now. Anyway, I understand that feeling of nostalgia. For me though I get that overwhelming feeling once I finally play the game. Setting and all that has to be right for a game like this, although when you play it it seems to create the setting itself.
For me the game which gave me that overwhelming feeling the most was the first time I played Kingdom Hearts 2. Loved that. I hope to feel the same about this game. At the end of the day though, it helps if you don't know much about the game. I've steered clear of every major trailer and footage, or even story for that matter. That way it all stays fresh and I can experience it as I go along.

I liked the 2006-2008 time. Not much information, the long waits for a trailer, 2 scans with only 3 amazing new pictures, the dissapointment,...
I don't like it that we have new scans/information almost each week now. The first years they showed so few things and now they haven't enough time to show everything yet.
I got a very special feeling when I look back at the past 3 years. Each day I looked for info on this site and others, and everything was so special back then. Now FFXIII looks like a normal very good game in stead of a far away divine entity.
My best moments in these 3 years were (except for the trailers)
- Reveal of Vanille in a lot of V-Jump scans (2008?)
- First screenshots of the battle system how it is now (http://finalfantasy-xiii.net/2008/12/17/jump-scan-new-final-fantasy-xiii-battle-screenshots.html)
- Seeing Kaz Hirai on the Premiere Party
- Official English, North American sites.
