Most of the time i use mspaint, im quite good at it.
Just kidding. I had CS1, but im trying to get used to gimp now.
Please, dont go nuts and download fonts. It really slows your computer down if you have too many. I mean it.

I use Photoshop 7.0.
For creating custom brushes, there's a "Custom Brush" tutorial under the "Resources" tag at this site: http://www.eeanee.com/. She uses it for painting, but I'ms sure it's equally as useful for signatures and graphics!
Hopefully that will help :)
I know Askyria and occassionaly Rikku use textures, and their results are awesome!

I use photoshop 7.0. I had CS2, but then decided to stick with 7 because I could basically do the exact same things, except CS2 was more resource heavy.
For fonts, I usually go to www.dafont.com. They have a huuuge selection of fonts. You can find basically any kind of font there. Lol.
As for textures, I think Cheryl/Askyria posted one of our sources somewhere: http://feel.hironeko.net/goodies_textures.php
However, you can also find textures, as well as brushes, as www.deviantart.com. A simple search can get you a lot of resources on that place. o_o; You have to keep in mind, though, that most brushes are compatible only with Photoshop 7.0 or CS2.
I've tried out Cinema 4D, but only as a test to see if I could make renders on my own. You can also use renders in your graphics, see. Usually though, I find all my renders on deviantart.com as well.
Yeah, so, I've basically listed out all my resources. Hahah, lol. If you have any questions about effects, feel free to ask. ;P

I use Photoshop 7.0. It's fun. <3
Haha, we could have a resource post with all these; I have tons.
DeviantArt (http://www.deviantart.com/)- tons and tons and tons of stuff there, but like Karen said, it's usually only for 7.0 or CS2.
Hybrid Genesis (http://hybrid-genesis.net/main_freebies.html)- for a lot of brushes, textures and patterns.
Aethereality (http://aethereality.net/) - brushes, textures, tutorials, graphics, and a huuuuge anime/manga gallery.
...And though this has nothing to do with everything else, check out this crazy good graphic designer: http://www.hejz.com/main.html
<3.
Karen already posted my main resource for textures. >_> Rawr. Dafont rocks too.

Lol, the first doesn't either--strange, it makes the bracket and hyphen part of the link too. It's http://hybrid-genesis.net/main_freebies.html .

Which one is better, Photoshop 7.0 or Photoshop CS2?
Askyria
Mar 31 2007, 03:12 AM
I don't know, I had a trial version of CS2 but now I use 7.0 and I don't really see much of a difference.
Pixel
Mar 31 2007, 04:14 AM
Well, My parents bought me the CS2 because it was a newer version, I really don't see what the difference is either.

how much are these programs ..i want to learn how to use them ,would it be possible to teach myself if i got a program?

You can teach yourself, just takes a lot of time. The Photoshop CS2 was like $300, but Photoshop 7.0, well you can find that for less than $150.

sweet God i dont have that kind of fortune..my life is hopeless

Mar 31 2007, 04:40 AM
If you do not want to pay a fortune, try looking on limewire or ebay. You know, Photoshop is a PROFESSIONALLY USED photo editor.
Askyria
Mar 31 2007, 08:08 PM
Yeah, I taught myself to use it. It does take awhile, and it helps to look for tutorials if you're really stuck.

-sudden respawn from inactivity-
Yeah, tutorials are a big help. Or you could just ask somebody. I taught myself, and trust me, it's not impossible. =P Anyway, IMO, PS7 is better than CS2. It's less expensive and less resource-heavy, and you can basically get the same effects. And yeah, you could always go on limewire or eBay... or something.

Have any of you guys got any links to some tutorials? :P The site I used to go to (Sabregfx I think) went down a year ago and I've not really looked around much for tutorials other than deviantART. I wanna try doing some sigs again as I haven't for soo long.
Askyria
Mar 31 2007, 11:01 PM
Lol, most tutorials I use are from deviantart. I don't use tutorials much anyways; I just kind of experiment to make my sigs.

www.good-tutorials.com/
Godly place. But even then I've only used tuts like once or twice. XD
Besides that, I haven't seen any tutorials except for the ones from devart that Cheryl sends me. (P.S. I've yet to try that chaotic distortion thing. I wish I could. Maybe I will for our Social Studies proj... And make it brightly colored... Oh god I might end up giving our teacher a seizure!)
