I forget what it's called, but you need to win a chocobo race in order to get the sigil or whatever that activates the weapon. That shit was IMPOSSIBLE. I got everyone's weapon except for wakka [you had to play blitzball to win that shit -- ain't happening...plus I never really used him, lol], and Lulu [dodging lightning 200 times? no thanks].
but yuna's weapon was the sex because it gave you 1 mp cost *3* best thing ever.
so how many could actually get tidus's weapon? or bothered to get any of the other secret weapons?

Winning the race was easy, but to get his secret weapon you had to get all the balloons in the race and finish with a time of 0 seconds (cuz each balloon took time off the clock).
I don't know anyone who's had the patience for that

Yeah, that's what I meant, lol.

Being something of a completionist, I spent about an hour trying to win the Chocobo race in order to get the weapon, and I eventually succeeded. I don't think I ever bothered doing it again after my second playthrough though, it just seemed a complete waste of time, as did getting Lulu's (I think) Sigil by doing that fucking awful lightning dodging bullshit in the Thunder Plains.

It was called Caladbog, or some shit like that.
And yes I got it.

I found that after giving it a couple tries it became quite easy I finished off everyone's weapons except for Wakka (I like Blitzball but I have never had the patience) and Lulu. I tried really hard, getting pretty close sometimes, but it was the time that I got 199 dodges and then got hit that I decided to stop. It scarred me.

Were the weapons worth the effort?

The only use they had was in fighting the Dark Aeons, but even then if you have the patience you can create exact replicas of their weapons by going into the customisation menu. So, no, they really weren't worth the effort D=

They only really are if you can get both the corresponding crest and sigil that is where the real challenge lies. Without them they are almost useless.

for the most part, they had some really great stats/bonuses.
Yuna's was really the only one worth getting, it gave her 1mp cost ability which was INCREDIBLE during the final boss[es]. doublecast ultima for 2 mp :) very convenient.

surprisingly enough, after about 15 minutes you start to get really good at it... then its all up to luck. just don't get exactly 0... i did that and it doesn't give you the sigil or crest (can't remember which) needless to say... after figuring out why i didnt get it... i was extremely sad :'(

I did, but it wasn't really worth it because all my characters were overpowered anyway.

That's another reason I never bothered with it, besides not having the patience. My characters were all extremely leveled and plus the magus sister's and anima's overdrives pretty much wiped anything out that you used them on.

i got all the ultimate weapons. Even though you don't like wakka, i would recommend that you get his ultimate weapon because it is the most powerful weapon in the game.

I got it, twice even. I forgot to save the first time, man was I pissed.

I got everyone's Celestial Weapons awakened completely, save for Wakka's. Blitzball was a pain, and I don't think his weapon was at all worth the effort. Sad, though, because his lack of an ultimate weapon and further limit breaks meant that I never used him. Hm. Tidus' I found to be really easy, but I may have just been especially lucky. Lulu's gave me real trouble. I got hit after 198 dodges... Argh. :(And Kimarhi's for me was near impossible. I'm red-green colorblind, and I just could not tell the difference between those dumb butterflies.

I only bothered to get Tidus', Auron's and Rikku's ultimate weapons as they were my party. I also got Yuna's but that was more incidental.
Caladbolg for the record.

Tidus - Caladbolg, Yuna - Nirvana, Rikku - Godhand, Auron - Masamune(I think), Lulu - Onion knight, Kimahri - Spirit lance, Wakka - World champion. I got all sigils and crests multiple times (except for Lulu and Wakka - only twice). They were worth getting because of the dark aeons (you could make replicas but it was way more difficult to get 99 dark matters to customize break damage limit). Lulu's was the only one not worth getting because the dark aeons were strong against magic even if you had it maxed out at 250 and her onion knight couldn't hit for 99999 even when she had strenght at 250.

I got all secret weapons (ecen kimharis), most annoying was Lulus. i think the hard work wasnt worth. But the others were no problem for me, and there were really usefull because I got them before i fighted against the black aeons.

yep i got Tidus's last weapon, sigals etc for it as well with the chocobo race....took me forever but yeah did it.
I got all the weapons and defeated all the dark aeons, the worst was YOShimba....faggot had to kill him like 5 times as a dark aeon.....such a fag.

Got it, in both playthroughs. Then proceeded to max the board for everyone which took some time (nearly complete it but... didn't quite). I got everyone's weapon except Lulu's and Wakka's. Same thing again really, did not have the patience and when my first attempt at dodging lightning got me 55 before I had to scratch my nose thus losing me the attempt, well, AGRVGHADW.
Srsly, I much prefer to beat some ultimate crazy monster to get a ultimate weapon instead of doing that shit.
Oh, and the chocobo thing, really wasn't impossibly hard. Was hard, but do-able.

I didn't get his weapon. I could win the race, but never got the time needed. I decided to make him a custom weapon and that was good enough. Kimahri and Lulu didn't get thier celestial weapons either. Dodging lightning was the worst idea ever. And I no longer remember what you had to do to get the celestial spear.

Chocobo racing was actually fun. :wtf:
Took me several attempts but I finally got it. The second playthrough I forgot to get the Sun crest in Zanarkand and ended up having to face a Dark Aeon.-_-

I got all of them, except Lulu's upgrade (200 dodges :wtf: ) It was al quite easy, but since I didn't had the international edition (No dark aeons, no penance ;-; ) It was usseles so I killed my party (tidus & auron) and played w/ you :aldo: it was still easy since she did about 60.000 per hit w/ holy :aldo:

Aside from Catcher Chocobo, Caladbolg was quite easy to get imo.
Which reminds me, Dark Yojimbo and Penance are still waiting to be defeated. >_>
I have most of the Celestial Weapons, just I can't be bothered with the Thunder Plains and Butterfly games.

Nope, I only managed to get Rikku's and Yuna's, I think, and it was unintentional each time.

Upgraded everyones' fully except kimahri (damn butterflies) ._. Chocobo racing was twitchy but fun.
In the thunder plains there is a certain spot that will cause lightning 100% of the time when you run over it, which made it easily predictable and only became a matter of time and keeping count.
I must have had the worst luck getting Wakka's sigil to appear in the blitzball >.< it took nearly forever. It added about 50+ hours to my play time just playing blitzball over and over again trying to get it.

I got the sigil in one race my first playthrough. True story.
The second playthrough it took several hours of frustration. I guess i got lucky the first time round. :>

The closest I ever got was maybe .02 seconds off. After that I just got so pissed and frustrated that I gave up.
....it was a day after that that a friend told me the longer you play the more intune you get with it... and I probably could have gotten it next try. ;-;

Nawww the intune thing is wrong, it's all down to luck where the balloons are placed and if you get screwed over or not near the finishing line because the damn path is so narrow.
It's one of those things you could spend 1000 years doing and if luck was against you, you would never, ever get the perfect time :P

If you'd struggled to open a couple of chests, which was all else that was required, I'd be suggesting something was seriously wrong with you.
