I am have always been a huge fan of the FF franchise and I've been giving the versus fandum a lot of thought, and I was thinking about what an epic dissappointment it would be if this game sucked ass!! I 4 one would be pretty P.Oed if after all the hype from SE and all the fan boying/gurling thats been taken place since they announced this game what a let down it would be if it didnt live up to the hype. I dont know if just me but does anyone else think that we may have set our selves up to high, only to have SE take a piss on our hopes and dreams for this game.... What would you do if this turns out to be the case?

Lol at the "suicidal replies" to this thread. Square Enix have historically made quality RPGs. Even though some of the releases have left much to be desired (i.e. FF X-2), I have never regretted playing an FF game. I srsly doubt FF XIII will suck.

Okay Advent Children is a movie, which I semi-enjoyed anyway. Dirge of Cerberus is a 3rd person shooter spin off game. I didn't expect much to begin with. Crisis Core is a good game, I don' know what the fuck you are talking about.

Look, besides Final Fantasy XI and partially XII, I haven't seen individual final fantasy games be complete shit. Three of the games you named off are spin offs of Final Fantasy VII, and one was an online game.

I still think Crisis Core is a good game, but then again I also like Kingdom Hearts, so that's where one of our differences in interest lie.

I honestly don't think this game will be shitty, I think it will at least be good. Possibly bittersweet like X-2.

If this game is a flop you go ahead and enjoy your moment of self satisfaction. But overall we all will get shafted because we'll end up waiting 5 + years for a shit game.

What's really going to tell us what to expect is when they show gameplay, and god knows how much they may have changed it from when they made their original statements about it.

There is this "feel" to Nomuras' latest work. There are so many things that just don't make sense in the universes he creates. He kind of establishes a rule, or have an established rule, and completely denounce it in order to make something "cool" to happen. Like, in FFVII when the gang is going to storm the Shinra headquarters and have to escalate from floor to floor in order to reach the top, that's fair and simple, I can relate to that, I live in a block myself and have to walk endless arrays of stairs myself. But in Advent Children they are like jumping ALL OVER THE PLACE, Cloud could just jump up if he wanted, no way he would bother to walk. And in Kingdom Hearts, every character just teleports.

it's this incosistency within the universe and storyline that just kills me. I can give more examples, but Nomura is going to have the same silly ULTRA FANTASY approach to Versus with slow moving characters thay have weird dialouge (Cloud and Rufus in AC).
