I've seen that article all over the place and I don't understand how the president of Sony Computer Entertainment France has anything to do with the exclusivity of FFXIII. If theres a press release from Square-Enix made by an executive that knows what he's saying then I'll take more notice.

he says the exclusivity of the game is under discussion..seeing as it was supposed to be exclusive allready, this only means that Square is rethinking that..so its a big deal
but again, lets wait and see

dear god....this cant be happening. [2]
but is it possible?! when a game is multiplataform doesnt it has to be compatible?! i mean...what about the white engine?! isnt it exclusively for ps3?! they would have to "remake" the "entire" game to make it compatible to other consoles right?!
i really dont understand a thingie about this kind of stuff XD

I guess its 5 % for FFXIII to join 360. Of course MS wants it, of course SE would get a lot of money from ps3 fanbase.
But im pretty sure sony wants to keep FF and MGS at any cost.

Well the White Engine is designed to use the cell processor in the PS3. Sakaguchi though who works for Microsoft says any console can use it but to be honest I think he's full fo crap, he directed The Spirits Within as well so who cares what he says :P
They have been working a long time on developing the White Engine and they could have completley re-made it to work with the 360 in this time but I just don't feel like Square would work with Microsoft.

That article is one of the worst pieces of so called 'journalism' I have ever read on Gamespot or any of the other 'big' games sites.
All the Sony bloke says is "the exclusivity is under discussion". Why would a Sony exec be talking to Square about making the game for other platforms? The discussion would be to keep the game exclusive to the PS3!
It doesn't help that this is a bad translation from a FRENCH interview, and as a couple of people have pointed out if you read the user comments below the story, in the original french article the Sony exec says they are talking about SECURING the exclusivity for the PS3.
This is a fine example of someone just trying to cause trouble and attempting to make a story where there is nothing of any real substance.
Until there is an official announcement from Square Enix all the 360 fanboys will just have to keep on dreaming.

Now that I think on it. I really think that the possibility of this happening is low because its not coming from a "reliable" source. If it was someone that worked at S-E, I would be kind of worried.

A Sony Executive is a reliable source..
ill say it one last time, wait and see..this doesnt mean the game is coming to 360, all he is saying is that they are undergoing discussion's reguarding the games exclusivity, wich means that PS3 exclusivity isnt a lock at this point leaving it open unless they can fork over the cash

Agreed.
None of the other big gaming sites have covered this 'story', because there really is nothing to report. A Sony executive says they are talking to Square about exclusivity and some 'journalist' interprets this to mean that the game is going to the 360. Put it on the internet and it causes a huge commotion and gets plenty of people visiting your site, even though there is nothing remotely newsworthy in the article.
Unless Square issue a statement saying the game is going to the 360, all this is nothing more than speculation or wishful thinking.
It just annoys me so much that 360 fanboys read the article, misinterpreted it, and started proclaiming that this meant the end for PS3 and that 360 had already won the console war.

Actually the 360 fans have been goin on and on about this for a very long time. Just go over to the Gamespot.com forums for FF13 there are so many topics of "will this come to 360?" and "If PS3 fails, will it be ported?"
Its getting very annoying.

O god, im not worried that it would be ported, I'm afraid off all the endless discussion between PS3 and 360 that would come here. Im tired of these people trolling.

It's not just annoying, it's completely pathetic. The rabid hate-filled fanboyism is why I have now stopped reading forums on the main gaming sites. It actually makes you feel ashamed to be a video games player - it's as though everyone who plays games is an ignorant, hating moron. I know that's not true of course, but reading the gaming forums on the big sites can leave you with that impression.

...and the endless fanboy arguments over which machine has the better version...
All the machines have their good and bad points, and all are suited to different groups of people. Why can't people just enjoy the machine they own without having to put others down just because they own a different console?
Anyway, I think it's more likely that Square will announce a new Fabula Nova Crystallis game just for the 360 rather than port over FFXIII, but I guess we will all just have to wait until the Square-Enix event in May in Japan to find out.
