PAL PS3 Backward Compatibility Site Now Live

As the title says, Sony have now set up a website listing all the PS1 and PS2 games compatible with the PAL PS3 when you download the firmware upgrade which will be made available on launch day. Here's the link:

It also states whether each game runs with no known issues / some minor issues or some noticeable issues, but sadly neglects to mention what those issues may be.

Unbeleivably Final Fantasy VII is NOT in the list of compatible PS1 games! Hopefully they just forgot it or something as FFVIII and FFIX are on the list.
Also, one of my favourite PS2 games, Outrun 2006 isn't on the list either! Oh well, at least they said they will improve compatibility with future firmware upgrades, so hopefully it will playable soon.

They released the list earlier than they said :D Not sure if thats such a good thing especially as a lot of the games are pretty poorly supported right now, then again it's still much better than the 360's back compatibility. I do find it a bit weird that they haven't supported their own first party titles though.

Well my favourite PS2 games are MGS 2 and FFX and MGS is missing from the list and FFX has noticable issues. Another game I liked (before I sold it :() was Kya: Dark Lineage but that isn't on the list either. Wish they finished it before they put it up.

FFX is one of my favourites too, but the 'noticeable issues' could just be to do with glitching during FMV playback or something. It's on the list so we at least know it will play, but it's annoying that they don't elaborate on what the problems are. Guess we'll just have to play the game to find out.

FFXII is my current favourite PS2 game and it has 'minor issues' but again, hopefully this will just be tiny graphical glitches rather than anything that renders the game unplayable.

Well I still remember something a couple of hours ago.
I'm glad to see the Buzz works,:D but I miss Zone of the enders there. :( Its a great, but short game. Kingdom Hearts have full support, FFXII have some minor problems while GTA san andreas has some more obvious problems.:ohmy:
