I consider myself to be an avid reader. My all time favorite author is Cormac McCarthy. I find his writing style and subjects to be fantastic. My favorite book of his is Blood Meridian, but Child of God is a close second. If you haven't read any McCarthy, I suggest you do so. He is without a doubt the greatest living author. I just wanted top see if anybody else enjoys his books, or if anybody wants to know anything about him.

No idea about his style, but upon using my powers of google I can safely say I think I found a book so polar opposite to me one of us would catch fire were we to be in the same room. You seem rather passionate about it and thats a rather bold statement to make, I'm sure many of us could make equal statements about different authors.

I needs to get around to reading some more!

I recently read The Crossing and All The Pretty Horses, they where brilliant.
As for his writing style, I enjoyed it, the way he played with the characters as well gave it more humanity than what most authors nowadays seem to portray.

I wouldn't put him as one of my favourite authors though, but I will defiantly be buying Cities Of The Plains, seeing as it's part of the Border Trilogy.

Hey, I just started reading The Road, and so far I do like the style and the themes, but he's not one of my favorite writers

A movie is due to come out for the book soon, but I'm not to confident about it.

I'm a voracious reader, but I never got around to reading him. I'm currently in the middle of Shelby Foote's mammoth Civil War trilogy, meaning i'm booked for quite some time.
