PS1 Classics.

I was just looking at a list of the PS1 classics that are currently available and I have to say I wasn't to impressed. Obviously I'm sure they will release more but I figured I'd ask what ps1 classics you would all like to see released next. I couldn't find a thread like this, but if there is one, just kill this one.

My fist choice would have to be Vagrant Story. I know its out in japan, but I have no clue if they intend to release it in the U.S. The game was amazing, and I can even remember anything about it.

The rest of the FF games are of course a given.

Chrono Cross would be another choice of mine.

My all time favourite is "Alundra" or "The Adventures of Alundra" as it's known as troughout Europe. If you have not played it yet, or for some reason have not heard of it, that's most likely a byproduct of horrible marketing.

Alundra is a 2D Action RPG with a heavy dose of puzzle elements and world-exploration. Sadly, the game lost to mainstream media over Final Fantasy VIII when it first came out. I personally recommend this title to all of you, I can promise a short learning curve, responsive, action packed gameplay, sophisticated puzzles and an epic, smart and intruging story-line.

The game is currently available on the japanese PSN, so hopefully it's just a matter of time before it reaches other regions.

I borrowed the game to my girlfriend, promising her money if she ever managed to complete it, but she constantly left it outside of the box and now it's scratched up beyond all recognition. Shame.

MGS1 seriously needs to come onto the PSN, as do King of Fighters.... Spyro The Dragon, Resident Evil, Wild Arms.... ngh so much.

That was such a great game! I remember my brother getting it for my ps1 and he didn't like it so he gave it to me, I played it so much i scratched the disc beyond use. I was a sad panda.

I recently managed to get a rom of it working on an emulator, ah I love that game so much.

Not necessarily. Several games have been rated for a long time but still haven't gotten released. Really, it just means we know for sure that they are considering it.

I'd like to see lots of RPGs from that era (including Saturn RPGs - specifically Panzer Dragoon Saga, thinking doesn't get much more wishful than that) since they would cost less on PSN, and I wouldn't have to deal with used discs of questionable origin or shipping.



Sony doesn't want money though. I don't see why they release so many no name games, or games that can already be had easily and cheaply.

I also don't understand why they (and Nintendo) choose to release games weekly. It seems like it would be better to get whatever licenses they can and just release the games. It's not like putting games people don't care about on the services or having scheduled releases actually keep people interested, I'd wager it does the opposite. It's especially stupid for first party titles since Sony/Nintendo own the rights to the freaking games in the first place, but won't add them to the service.

It's highly doubtful we'll ever see Saturn games on the PS3.

The architecture of the console makes it really difficult to emulate. Sony (in a partnership with Sega, of course) would have to develop a completely different software to emulate the games and for the few great games that the Saturn had, it's just not worth it.

Otherwise, Sega would need to recode the games to make them compatible with the PS3 architecture.

BTW, I looked up Alundra. The game looks awesome.

The original PS1 translation kinda sucked, but honestly, I loved it then, and if you get "The War of the Lions" version on PSP it's amazing. One of the best games ever, IMO.

Anyways, definitely MGS1, The Legend of Dragoon, FF Chronicles/Origins (just for FF 6), Alundra, Crash (cuz that was when it was good), Megaman X, Twisted Metal, Tekken 1-3 (unless it's already on there and I don't remember) and a bunch others I can't think of.
