I'm kinda felling hyped about this game. Imagine the battle system will be very close to XIII.

Wow man, thank you so much.

And that it the ugliest chocobo I have ever seen.

Chocobo are always cute, even if it's just their ass end showing.

I know, but this one looks like someone in a giant suit. I dunno, maybe it's the legs, but it looks like that bird from sesame street. :chocobo:

They really should make it Free-2-Play. A lot won't buy because of the monthly charge.

Hmm i wonder i like the idea of instant class change thru different equipment. Ahh i think im gonna go pick ff9 for a lil kinda reminds me of that system just a lil.(The learning thru euips part , except i think i read its instant in ff14 instead of haveing to learn over time . (Am i wrong i cant remeber but it sounds interesting.)

Anyone familiar with MMOs knows that subscription fees are common and quite necessary.

Unfortunately true, but i guess if your into that particular mmo its worth it to you.i dont like the idea of having to pay full price for software if thats the case it should be priced differently than regular games bc of the fees.

Surely F2P is the way forward for MMO games. XIV already has competition from the F2P MMORPGs already out on the market.

XIV is going to fall to the hands of WoW, which leaves it competing with Aion and shit for whatever's left.

All the GOOD MMOs cost money.

Free to play is the way forward? I'll tell Blizzards accountancy department.

Blizzard laugh at the idea.

Why give something away for free when you could make money from it? Using that logic, my groceries should be free. My internet should be free. My contributions to the site should be fre-- DON'T GET ANY IDEAS, ROBERT.

It's the logical step to get people to actually buy and play the game. Now they got the gamer in the game they can charge them real money for shit like items and chocobos using a Gil currency exchange feature. So playing the game will be free but getting stuff in the game will cost money. It's a better strategy, IMO.

It's a different strategy. It's successful enough for the likes of Silkroad. However it doesn't make anywhere near enough money in Square-Enix standards.

Not always. It works but it's faster and easier to make money from buying the disc or download then charging a monthly fee. No shit.

Well I know I won't be buying XIV if there's a monthly fee above £5 as I know I won't play it as much in a month to justify the cost. There's a lot of offline games that are also worth my time.

If the monthly fee of XI gets a price drop when XIV hits then I'll just get that for my 360 instead.
