I think Nomura decided to put his own personal style more into this game , and that's why it has Noctis in it.

Stella seems boring to me, I hope it's not some Leonardo Di Caprio - Cate Winslet correlation . You know like the movie romeo and juliette.

However Noctis is uber cool, at least from what I see from the trailers.

Now about the music, the trailer showed us some awesome stuff but I've listened to the KH music and it's dull, at least to me.

I think SE need a new composer. Nobuo is out of the game lately, see Lost Odyssey etc.

Nomura is smart and I think he'll do well for this game, but I still think FF needs Sakaguchi.

Your thoughts on Nomura and the new composer?

Nomura = fag.
Yoko Shimomura = godly. But you're an idiot, she's not new at all. :wtf:

I don't think I got the point of this thread. But If you mean that Yoko Shimomura should be replaced and Nomura should bring someone else to compose for Versus!

I'd say I'm sorry but you know nothing about Yoko Shimomura! Anyway that's your opinion and I can't change your mind and your taste.

At least I don't need Sakaguchi to play Final Fantasy XIII or Versus.

I think Nomura is very mainstream as a Gamedesigner. He has an eye for stereotyp stuff and things which combine Western and Eastern style. He is a talented man and learned alot in the past years. Not to forget he learned from the FF-Master himself: Sakaguchi.
Sakaguchi has a traditional style as a Gamedesigner. Just look at LO and BD. I doubt a turnbased or ATB battlesystem or a worldmap will ever find their way back to a big FF.
I think FF wouldnt change that much if Sakaguchi is still at SQEX.
Im looking forward to Versus. Noruma has his first chance to show the world how he direct a big Final Fantasy by his own.

I'm glad Uematsu isn't composing after the disaster that was the Blue Dragon soundtrack (damn the Youtube script on this forum), and I'd say that Sakaguchi has jumped the shark as well (although I'm still interested in seeing his project to see if he'll make a comeback).

Shimomura is awesome though. SquareEnix has multiple talented composers that are starting to take the reigns now that Nobuo is gone.

I would not mind a band make some musical contributions. However, considering that gerard Way of Emo-fame "My Chemcial Romance" made his way into Advent Children Complete, opens the possibility of hiring that douchebag. That's worst case scenario, I really don't like the fact that My Chemical Romance can be associated with Final Fantasy already.

However, something like "The National bank - Tolerate" is what I have in mind.

"Somnus" has a personal distincion, but that other song which plays in the newer trailers have a Kingdom Hearts-esque sound to it, no doubt. KH had a strong soundtrack in my opinion, they have definately chosen a fresh composer for the job. Cheers

Nomura, did a good job with KH i think.
So we kinda know what he's capable of.
Shimomura is good too, but I think Nobuo is better.
And I don't think Nobuo is out of the game yet, I mean he returned for FFXIV.
Also I kinda prefer Amanos character design over Nomuras...

So I expect good out of Versus, but not great.

yup, i wish Amano would do some character design for a FF again. but im relieved he's still alittle there for Versus.

I'd have to agree with Shuyu. Shimormura is a lot more talented.

I mean, sure, Nomura is pretty good, but Yoko is way better. :P:D

I don't know, I saw those scrawny bare legs and stumbled out trying to contain my vomit.

That had nothing to do with Nomura, you were pregnant.

Your thoughts on Nomura and the new composer?

I'm not stating what they do, just that I think Yoko is more talent in what she does. But I'll clear up what I said.

Like her Kingdom Hearts music and Mario Legend of The Seven Stars.
I was comparing her music skills to Tetsuya Nomura's character designer skills - she wins.

I get the point, but it's quite pointless make a comparsion between different categories.
It's like saying MJ is a better singer than my grandma as a chef :wtf:

He asked what my thoughts were on the two. I answered.
But..I guess your right. I should have stated what I was comparing them between and why.

Actually Naunen, he is right, take the useless, uninteresting talk somewhere else, like live chat or something.

I do not really have a problem with the composer (which is not new, but you can have said it nicer Shuyu) Intelligent people do not call people gay (when they obviously are not and can get a point across without flaming someone).

Wondering what the mods are on right now...

Have you ever seen Nomura with a woman? Have you? :wtf:

Also, the words an individual uses has nothing to do with intelligence. Stephen Fry says it well.

If you don't like it here, you can leave. No one will miss you.

My philosophy is to always assume people are bisexual until they show signs of leaning to a specific sex. And Tetsuya Nomura most certainly shows leaning towards males. In all seriousness, I don't think he's ever been with a woman. I know in Japan they tend to be more private about their lives, but wouldn't we know by now if he were married?

Wandering Hands
Aug 15 2009, 07:29 AM
Well, Motomu Toriyama is married. If we know the director of one game is married, we should know if the director of another is married. I understand that people are getting married later in life these days, but the man's 38.

Aurelia
Aug 15 2009, 07:31 AM
In Japan I think that's considered to be ancient. I don't think Nomura's getting married any time soon...

... to a woman. :awesome:
