so i find this really awesome. heres the link to the story: http://supererogatory.tumblr.com/post/151380920
or http://thelifestream.net/forums/showthread.php?t=2513
or http://kotaku.com/5325198/this-looks-like-art-from-warren-spectors-steampunk-disney-game
its supposedly a darker disney story...epic enough for gaining more fans to disney, perhaps?
what might be a possibility is that this could lead to our "enigmatic" KH3...maybe.
you guys find out.^_^ sorry for the big pics.

just another way of making us laugh, huh?
what i just found out is that the picture with the paint thinner can has a watermark on the lower left corner. i cant see what it is, but it has 2008 on it. so, im thinking pre-production started last year without any information being released to the public...interesting...

They did a similar thing with Alice in Wonderland - American McGee's Alice. The designs were creepy, but the game wasn't that good. I'm interested to see where this goes.

The artwork is amazing! Loving the feel to it and am intruiged as to how this will pan out.
Other than that, if KH3 dabbled in these kinds of elements I'd be more than thrilled.

New info. (http://computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=220427)
Following a batch of concept art said to be from an unannounced Disney game dubbed 'Epic Mickey' comes a few details from a source who wishes to remain anonymous. When don't they?
Details were originally spotted by Superannuation (http://supererogatory.tumblr.com/) who found out that a development and concept artist listed the project - "Epic Mickey" (Wii Video Game) - on his online CV and pointed to some concept art (which you can find on this page) said to be from the game.
CVG has learnt that the game is indeed called Epic Mickey and it's being worked on by ex-Deus Ex man, Warren Spector at his Junction Point studio. But the internet already seems to know that.

We've since been told that it's a Wii-exclusive where you paint your way through levels using the Wii Remote. This 'painting your way' involves you drawing, etching and erasing whole or parts of levels as you go. Capcom's Okami immediately springs to mind but we've not got enough info to go on to make any kind of informed judgement.
As for the story, we've also been told that it'll be based around very old and/or forgotten Disney characters who are out to get their revenge on Mickey, presumably because they're jealous of all his fame and fortune. We Googled 'early Disney characters' and found that Oswald the Lucky Rabbit returned a lot of hits. A bit before even CVG's time all that though.
So not much to go on. We've contacted Disney about the extra info but don't really expect any confirmation as the game's still unannounced. But looking at the concept art, we're quietly excited already. There's plenty more guesswork to be found on NeoGaf (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=369603).
I want.

I hardly think talking or illustrating sex is considered to be "dark" or "really dark." Just because something seems mature or LULGRIMDARK doesn't mean it is so. But maybe it is because I consider sex to be natural and that Pixar is a company ran by adults that I don't have that belief. In fact, I want those books. They sound awesome.

my hype was just diminished. This will probably end up being really childish considering it is for the Wii. Oh well, maybe next time Mickey you will get a game worthy of your fame.

Hopefully, the Wii will finally get a quality third-party title amongst all the non-Nintendo shit.
But it will be interesting to see more art of this game, a steampunk post-acopalyptic game starring Mickey will certainly be a fascinating thing.

^ Yes, majority are in my opinion. I think you will find many tend to agree with me.
This looks to be something new for disney, but it will still most likely target kids 6-13 years old.

I wouldn't really say this is going to be childish at all, I mean not all Wii games are childish. 'The Conduit', 'Madworld', 'House of The Dead: Overkill' 'The Resident Evil Games', 'No More Heroes' , 'Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Warriors' (or whatever).
You never know, yes I will give you that there are alot of Wii games that are childish but that doesn't mean anything in coming to solid conclusions about a game we don't know much about; especially just by concept art.

Yes, but the Wii is just more of the child directed system to me. I mean a few games that make you look into whether it is childish or not just doesn't have anything going for it. I wll say it is more of a family console compared to the 360 and PS3. It may even just be that its too colorful and when I think colorful I don't see it as "real" but rather cartoonish.
And then from cartoonish, I see childish. I don't know but the Wii has just been for the big kids as opposed to the ps3 and 360 for teens and adults.

Out of the entire library of games for the Wii, the ones you just listed are about the only ones that are not childish. Ill agree that I should not automatically assume this game will be childish, but the chances of it being childish are very high.

Why are you even using the word "childish?" Yes there are a great number of Wii games that are geared towards children under 10, however, there are also games that are also for adults but not in the "hardcore gamer" sense. I call those games "casual" games.

Its a dark game with disney characters looking like zombie mechs.
You call that childish?

^ these are nothing more than artworks. You cannot get a picture of a game through such little, unimportant things. childish as many different levels. Power Rangers are childish (with bad acting) but teletubbies are more childish than Power Rangers.
So again, the Wii is pretty full of childish games, I hope this one does not get the Wii-germ (happy happy fun family time)
