Lightning's Gunblade - Prototype

I finished my prototype of the model of Lightning's gunblade, which I've dubbed Chimera, earlier this morning. Due to lack of supplies, it took a lot longer to throw together than planned.
It's full-size, fully articulated, and strong enough to be wielded. It's only made of carboard and, being a prototype, its only purpose is to confirm the mechanism. It won't be painted or made showy, the wooden/proper model that follows will be.
The transformation's pretty smooth but some of the pins catch on each other and the blade is understandably a bit wobbly.
I'm quite pleased with the fact that I've finished this now, I have more time for other projects (Like a set of 14-foot wings that are awaiting completion).

Yeah, it's also made out of cardboard. I made it back in December because there was a tonne of scrap carboard lying around after Christmas. There's also a real tiny one on the second-to-top shelf next to the AC book. Both are kinda crap though.
I also made the plushie under the big one's head. xD
That Lightning thing you can see next to the gunblade is a 1/7th scale cardboard cutout of Lightning (http://ibeatsephiroth.deviantart.com/art/Lightning-1-7th-126448803) I made out of a print out to test an ink cartridge.

Yeah, the one out of wood might take a few months though. I'm either going to buy one of those... electric saw.. things and cut the pieces myself or get them cut for me.

Semi-functional meaning that some of them had "ammo cartridges" that could you could load and reload into the weapons. I think his rocket launcher opened up too. Embarrassing video for the kid though. Teabagging the air on camera... I'm sure he'll look back at that and laugh in a few years.

I'd probably buy one of some Chinese company mass produced them and sold them at the right price since I collect useless junk like that. Hey, if somebody made and sold Kadaj's sword, I'm sure somebody will make and sell replica's of Lightning's.

They already make them -- I've seen photos over the net. They're not as accurate as they could be, though xD
Apparently a whole shipment of them got confiscated. O.o
