I drew this to test out my memory of Lightning/Pulse/FFXIII in general, so I didn't use a reference at all. Figured I'd post it here to show anyone that might be interested. o.o Click the image for a better description of it (Same for the ones below).

That's beautiful! Awesome, I wish I could draw too! The first drawing reminds me of the beginning of Lost Oddysey somehow. Great work, and you could be right about Vanille.

The vannile one was pretty good. If hre Gestalt mode will be like that, it wll be quite good.

If you want some critique; the first one is pretty good, and so are the others but, as before, the faces don't really look like the characters'.

The Odin and Carbuncle concepts are both reasonable and well drawn. You are quite the artist.
