And so was Jecht in his normal human form before becoming Braska's Final Aeon.

Think about it for a minute. Yu Yevon has been summoning Dream Zanarkand for 1000 years. Tidus was probably a real person once who lived in the real Zanarkand 1000 years ago. He was in all likelihood killed during the war with Bevelle. At any rate, Tidus is not a real person in the present timeline of FFX. Dream Zanarkand and Sin are basically giant Aeons, or possibly one big Aeon unto itself, and therefore an element of that Aeon such as Tidus/Jecht are basically mini-Aeons. Dream Zanarkand does not exist inside Sin mind you, it is said to exist somewhere out at sea near Baaj temple before Sin's final defeat.

The Bahamut Fayth in Bevelle (little dark-skinned kid in a hood) tells Tidus that he is a "dream of the Fayth." It's no different than if they made a permanent character in your party called Shiva, and gave her dialogue, personality, and story interaction (in FFVI the Espers/Magicite can and do talk a little bit). In that case Shiva would be both a summoned creature and a character in your party simultaneously, which is what Tidus basically is throughout the game. Essentially a "rogue" summoned creature who ultimately brought down his very summoner, Yu Yevon.

So in that other poll that asks who your favorite summoned creature is, methinks Tidus should have been included on the list, although most people wouldn't think of Tidus as being a summoned creature. In such a poll I would vote for Tidus hands down. Quite possibly the most sophisticated summoned beast of all time, with a plethora of equippable swords. He can cast Haste on himself, Slow on you, and then Quick Hit you to death 10 times before you could even act.

I have always had fantasies about an FFX-3 game where Yuna literally summons Tidus like she would summon Valefor. You would see this big opening sequence like you see whenever you summon an Aeon. Like Tidus would rise from a pool of water and do the Jecht Shot, and then come on the battlefield. In analogy, Yuna would be the "sorceress" and Tidus her "knight." Paine and Rikku would go into reserve obviously while you summoned Tidus to kill the dingo cause it's got high evasion.

You should be crown King of Patience and Deepness. I could never have enough patience to write all that.
Anyways, yeah Tidus is just a fancy summon.

Correct me if I'm wrong (I haven't played FFX-2 in forever) but weren't Shuyin the person that dream Tidus was based of off? Dreams reflect memories so; the Fayth sees Shuyin and than dreams up Tidus.

Tidus is not a summon...jecht became a summon bcuz Braska had to choose who will be the final aeon or whatever and jecht sacrificed himself...and so on...

First off, you have alot of patience to write all that.

Second, yes, he is summoned, but he differs from the aeons because he simply isn't a weapon so to speak. He's human. Not that it matters anyway, since he's the main character.

And third, the "summoning sequence thing"... yeah, a bit on the stupid side.

I've never thought of it in the much depth, but listening to something like that just makes me want to believe it right off the bat, and frankly, it's probably true.

Also, that FFX-3 thing sounds pretty cool. Summoning Tidus just sounds grand in itself.

His overdrive would have to be something special - maybe a combination of Slice & Dice, Jecht Shot, Sphere Shot, and Quick Hit - just for starters. :D

it kind of makes sense but there are some things to think about.
truly, tidus and jecht are dreams created by the faith to continue the memory or legacy of zanarkand. suprisingly enough though, as displayed by tidus' memory of his mother, they can die. but also what one can think about is: if tidus is an aeon then how come he didn't get possessed by yu yevon when they were in the final battle versus sin? it's pretty wierd when you think about it.

Tidus is a dream but not an Aeon. Jecht became one as we all know, but Tidus never went that far. During his journey with Braska and Auron he was told how they could defeat Sin and Jecht sacrificed himself to help his friend (Braska).

I think Tidus is a summond Crature because he was summond and when the old people from Zanerknad die the Summens die. And Tidus died after they died.
