what would it be?
(and "That it never happened" doesn't count, since everyone would pick that)

Plant YRP on another planet
No seriously, if they had to chase Tidus' ass, maybe have Tidus get transported from the farplane to another planet
This would force the developers to start from scratch with places, monsters and enemies, instead of recycling them from FFX's Spira

I agree. New places would really help the game.
Also, instead of being simply Sphere Hunters, I wish there was more of a "need to save the world" theme to the game. Or maybe something like, if we don't save Tidus soon, he'll die without being sent to the Farplane and later become a fiend. Just SOMETHING that would make the game more dire and worthwhile, you know?

I agree with that, I think they should have been put in some kind of organization, which I though they would when I heard of the Youth League and such
YRP in the army would have been much better

For real!
When my brother and I used to play, we would compete over which side was better when I chose New Yevon, and he would choose the Youth League - but looking back on it, it was all a bunch of crap.
Like you said, YRP in military ties would have been much more interesting than, "LYKE OMGG WHO SHOOD WE GIV THIZ SFEERE TO!?"

Change the ending.
The sad ending is the best one.. Yuna moves on from the past, in the touching scene where her vision of Tidus' hugs her, but she realizes that it is over and moves on. Her character develops instead of regressing by bringing Tidus back.. and by bringing Tidus back, well that just ruins the entire theme of the first game and ruins its fantastic ending.
"This is my story. It'll be a good one," is much better than "Is it really you? Oh well," and nothing changes and her character goes stagnant.
I really did love X-2. It was a lot of fun if you didn't take it too seriously.

I would change the fact that they were looking for Tidus at all, I wanted him to say dead, he could have been the first video game character to die, and stay dead but he didn't and SE had to go and ruin it. I'm not trying to say I hate Tidus, I loved him, but he could've been a legacy if he'd stayed dead. It also makes me think Yuna is really clingy though what person would pass up the chance to see their dead lover again, right? But I still hated the storyline, it also made no sense because I thought - "it's just a sphere, Tidus is dead isn't he? How could have recorded himself in that sphere if he's dead? He could've recorded that when he was alive and you weren't around! Why are you worrying?"
I would also have them not look like hookers.

So many things seem intertwined, but nothing leads... to a good, cohesive plot line.
I'd have liked to see the story be about really EXPLORING Spira/Spiran history.
I wouldn't mind Yuna's primary motivation to be "Him" at game start, but it would've been so much more expansive to have it be about what really happened to Zanarkand, Bevelle and so on all those years ago, and how it shaped Spira.
Spheres could've been artefacts, and YRP could've been acting in a tomb raider capacity. Lenne/Shuyin's story and history with Vegnagun could've been explored more as a true HAUNTING than 'love story that inescapably mirrors Tidus and Yuna's... but, not really'.
Learning more about cultural and familial ties. Lord Braska, Yuna's mother, RIKKU'S mother... how the Guado and Al-Bheds developed.... more info on the Crimson Squad... the lives of the Fayth before they became as such... what life was like back in Zanarkand's prime... the life of Lady Yunalesca... etc
Just my thoughts...
Edit: Scratch that. I'll settle for more PAINE.

I would have wanted to see a less girly story...
Even though I'm gay and I like bright colors (yay me:lol:), FFX-2 was a little bit too much shallow story and girlpower and a little bit too less remarkable characters, bosses and plottwists. (except Paine, she rocked!)
